Pine Gate Renewables is seeking a Sr. GL and Financial Reporting Manager to own the oversight of the general ledger and financial accounting/reporting. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting. The role will be to work on a variety of business needs including project management, ERP system implementations, managing process and resources, process improvements, embracing change and audit preparation.  Flexibility, communication, and a willingness to learn and adapt to change are of the highest importance.  The successful candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical, process oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare monthly consolidated financials and management reporting packages. Manage the preparation and review of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledger structure, continuously optimizing accounting processes.
  • Assess, research and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the business. Write the company’s accounting policies as needed.
  • Own implementing and maintaining portions of upstream data systems that impact accuracy of financials.
  • Actively support the growth of the business: identify and drive process improvements, complete special projects as needed, and embrace change. 
  • Oversee the general ledger, consolidated financial reporting, and supporting monthly budget to actuals reporting functions.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and account analysis, explaining any changes in the accounts.
  • Prepare/review monthly financial statements ensuring they accurately reflect the transactions of the organization.
  • Help build the Corporate Accounting brand across Pine Gate Renewables by fostering relationships with the functional areas of the business to assist in more accurate consolidating financial reporting and problem-solving abilities.
  •  Assist with design, implementation, and execution of accounting and financial software implementations.  
  • Meet expectations and adhere to deadlines.

Must-Haves

  • At least 5-7 years of financial reporting and general ledger experience.
  • Proficiency with intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Complex Organizational Structures
  • ERP Implementation
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Audit Experience
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Working Knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient knowledge and use of automated accounting systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and General Ledger software

 Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related
  • CPA or master’s degree, preferred
