The team

We are a small but passionate team of 140+ based in San Francisco and Nashville. Pilot’s seasoned founding team has led companies through two prior successful startups and acquisitions (by Oracle and Dropbox). We give our employees a lot of responsibility and ownership of their work, and we hire people from a very wide range of backgrounds and experience. Our team members operate with a high degree of empathy for our customers and each other.

The role


  • Envision, design, implement and lead a "next practices" and multi-faceted talent acquisition strategy and programs to support the firm's rapid and significant growth
  • Develop programs to curate an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring we have thoughtful diversity and inclusion programs to attract the best talent
  • Develop a robust and continuous talent pipeline


Player Coach

  • Manage the entire recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, candidate selection, scheduling interviews, and closing process, using Greenhouse
  • Maintain the Greenhouse ATS - ensure it is being used according to established processes
  • Manage KPI achievement and tracking for team
  • Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, interview plans and position requirements
  • Develop job postings
  • Source candidates using a variety of search methods to build a robust candidate pipeline
  • Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications, and performing phone screenings
  • Facilitate the offer process by creating & extending the offer 
  • Ensure a positive and consistent candidate experience - take ownership of candidate experience by designing & executing C/E initiatives 
  • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices
  • Work with Head of People to identify opportunities for efficiencies within the recruiting process

Build the Strategy

  • Make tangible improvements to the recruitment processes at each stage in the candidate journey' 
  • Envision, design, implement and deliver an effective talent acquisition strategy to source and attract the highest caliber talent to support our firm's strategic priorities, growth, brand promise and candidate experience
  • Provide talent acquisition support to the leaders across the firm as internal clients, supporting their goals to build our business with the right talent
  • Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders, hiring managers, critical stakeholders and partners, operating as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert

Build the team

  • Build and lead a strong core recruiting team to achieve our talent attraction goals
  • Develop methods to better forecast hiring needs and identify key recruiting metrics to measure effectiveness and provide data-driven actionable insights

Bring in Great Talent

  • Establish Pilot as a top employer of choice among our key candidates segments by increasing brand awareness and positive brand sentiment
  • Embrace and imbed Pilot’s brand promise and strategic priorities into a multi-faceted talent acquisition strategy and recruiting practices
  • Design and deliver a thoughtful and intentional diversity and inclusion strategy for talent acquisition and recruiting practices
  • Help develop a cohesive university relations strategy 
  • Optimize innovative recruiting technologies, including internet-based and social media channels and sourcing tools

Experience & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of broad recruiting and business experience required, with at least 6 years managing and leading a recruiting function preferably within the tech industry
  • Experience successfully managing complex programs, projects, budgets, and deadlines and working across all levels of leadership
  • Strong track record demonstrating superior ability to source and attract top talent, assess capability for both technical and interpersonal fit, negotiate offers and seal the deal to deliver well qualified candidates
  • Experience using a broad range of sourcing techniques, including data mining, advertising, direct research, social media, etc.
  • Excellent People manager skills with a demonstrated track record of building and leading high performing teams
