Boston-based company Piaggio Fast Forward Inc. (PFF) was founded in 2015 by the Piaggio Group (the Italian manufacturer that created the iconic Vespa scooter). Listed below is an overview of general responsibilities the Robotics and AI Engineering Intern/Co-Op may have: 

 

  • Active involvement in development for a vision-based robotic systems 
  • Write robotics software, develop navigation and machine learning algorithms.
  • Design and evaluate AI technologies for use in mobile robotics.
  • Develop developer tools to collect robot data for analysis and training ML models. 
  • Document and test your code; comply with company standards 

 

Requirements

 

  • Robotics, Computer Vision, ML/AI course work and/or demonstrable experience in those topics
  • Strong programming experience in modern C++ and/or Python 
  • Experience with Linux and open-source development tools
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Currently working towards a BS or greater in Computer Science or Engineering or a related subject is preferred
  • Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they can legally work in the U.S.
