We are seeking an experienced Head - Outbound (SME & Partnership) to lead our outbound efforts in merchant acquisition and manage strategic partnerships in the B2B payment gateway space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through both central and regional teams, focusing on acquiring SME merchants, forming key partnerships, and managing larger accounts. This role demands strategic vision, leadership, and operational excellence to ensure the scalability and success of our payment gateway solutions. The position will report to the Head- Payment Gateway (SME & Partnerships), and involves managing a team to ensure buildup of partners and merchants of the payment gateway for SMEs . This role requires a focus on maximizing throughput, margins, and the overall merchant experience in the assigned business segment.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy and Leadership: ○ Develop and execute long-term outbound sales and partnership strategies targeting SMEs and key accounts. ○ Lead and manage a multi-layered outbound sales team, including business Development Executives (BDEs) for merchant acquisition and Key Account Managers (KAMs) for larger accounts and partnership closures. ○ Drive efforts at both central and regional levels, ensuring strong coordination between teams and maximizing coverage across different geographies. ○ To ensure the success of the business, Incumbent must make decisions that are strongly supported by data and adjust when necessary via Identification of new business opportunities, categories, create a vision for the growing business ○ Together with working closely with cross-functional partners, he or she would also be tasked with developing a solid operational and product roadmap for the SME market. In an industry that is competitive and constantly evolving, the position would offer chances to create unique concepts, methods, and solutions.
2. Partnership Development: ○ Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, ensuring seamless integration with our payment gateway.
○ Serve as the primary point of contact for partnerships, continuously improving partner engagement and identifying new opportunities for collaboration. ○ Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, GTM, Finance, and tech to align partnerships with broader business goals.
3. Merchant Acquisition and Onboarding: ○ Oversee the outbound merchant acquisition process, ensuring efficient onboarding and smooth integration of merchants into the payment gateway ecosystem. ○ Maximize throughput, and funnel opination leading to significant growth in volumes.
4. Team Management: ○ Manage and mentor a diverse team, ensuring clear communication of goals, expectations, and performance metrics. ○ Ensure team members are aligned with business objectives, promoting collaboration and accountability at all levels.
5. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Mitigation: ○ Develop innovative solutions to improve the overall merchant and partner experience, while addressing compliance and operational challenges.
Requirements: ● MBA from Tier 1 campus with 6-10 years of work experience ● Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of marketing and sales principles and drive for result, able to demonstrate/quantify success related to established targets and metrics ● Problem-solving abilities with strong bias for impact and Collaboration - ability to work collaboratively with senior management across various functions to ensure effective execution of the overall strategy and roadmap. ● Analytical skills & able to handle large volumes of data with highest accuracy levels ● Decision-making process & provide insights into the business ● Flexible to adopt changes as per business requirement ● Self-motivated and self-starter.
