The Head of Growth will lead the strategy planning and execution of PhonePe's category management and growth approach for the payment gateway targeting Small, and Medium Enterprises (SME). This role entails interpreting merchant-level data, behaviors, and feedback to drive product development, growth level strategies, and merchant support enhancements. The position will report to the Head- Payment Gateway (SME), and involves
managing a team to ensure category management and account management of the payment gateway for SMEs, achieving sustainable growth. This role requires a focus on maximizing throughput, margins, and the overall merchant experience
in the assigned business segment.

The ideal candidate should possess vast experience in comprehending the
needs of merchants and the fastpaced and competitive environment. A
commercial mindset and a thorough understanding of marketing and sales
principles are also essential for the role.
Additionally, the individual will need to work collaboratively with senior
management across various functions to ensure efficient and effective execution
of the overall strategy and roadmap.


Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy for the
payment gateway targeting SMEs
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders like Business
Finance, Sales, GTM, Product and Engineering.
- P&L owner for the group of categories managed as defined
- Team Management: manage a team of Category Owners and
operation/account managers
- Category Analytics: proficient in analytics to identify growth areas and execute

Requirements:
● MBA from Tier 1 campus with 6-10 years of work experience

● Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of marketing and sales principles and drive for result, able to demonstrate/quantify success related to established targets and metrics
● Problem-solving abilities with strong bias for impact and Collaboration - ability to work collaboratively with senior management across various functions to ensure effective execution of the overall strategy and roadmap.
● Analytical skills & able to handle large volumes of data with highest accuracy
levels
● Decision-making process & provide insights into the business
● Flexible to adopt changes as per business requirement
● Self-motivated and self-starter.
