Position Summary:

The Technical Writer, SaaS Solutions will be responsible for supporting the QuartzBio business unit in creating and tracking project-specific technical data documentation, including templating, drafting, versioning, and distribution to appropriate team members. To accomplish this, the Technical Writer will draft data transfer agreements (DTAs), data transfer specifications (DTSs), data management plans (DMPs), and other SaaS documentation and facilitate review and approval of documents. The Technical Writer will also track status of all data transfer documents across the project portfolio and generate status reports as needed.


Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Generate and update drafts of technical documents, including DTAs, DTSs, and DMPs with input from appropriate stakeholders for laboratory and clinical data
  • Work with Project Managers to learn which project specific documents are needed and by what date. Based on this date, the Technical Writer will be tasked to manage to the timelines set forth by the Project Manager, ensuring that all relevant functional areas have adequate time to review, edit and approve documents as applicable and in accordance with client contracts
  • Manage the process of document creation, review, editing and approval across all of the involved and relevant key stakeholders ultimately responsible for the final approved internal release and distribution of the document.
  • Create and implement document templates, whether project specific or general, using Microsoft Office Programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Create data workflows and diagrams as needed
  • Participate in team meetings as needed to provide key internal stakeholders with updates on deliverables
  • Participate in external team meetings as needed to ensure that all client specific edits are understood, tracked and incorporated as appropriate
  • Ensure that work product complies with design and performance standards, regulatory environment and customer expectations
  • Carry out other duties as assigned




Minimum Required:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 2 years’ relevant experience writing technical documents or SaaS-related documentation



Other Required:

  • Ability to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and interact effectively with multiple departments and levels internally as well as externally
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment
