The Petuum team is looking for the Head of Business Development – MENA, based on-site in Abu Dhabi who will conduct extensive revenue generation activities with public sector
governmental entities to drive growth for Petuum. As a secondary objective, this role will oversee the scaling of a lean team in the region and managing its operations.

  • Own all UAE revenue creation objectives and lead UAE and MENA business development initiatives, primarily with governmental entities
  • Drive growth and operations for the Abu Dhabi office to scale a lean team
  • Direct and coordinate activities for UAE client relationships
  • Provide regular updates and progress on improvements directly related to business development, marketing, lead generation and qualification, and other initiatives in the
  • Be an escalation point for all aspects of acquired customers, account management, and client engagement
  • Develop working knowledge of Petuum’s technical AI and ML product offerings
  • Provide feedback to technical staff of any issues, improvements, or product development features required or requested by the clients
  • Strategic guidance to clients on the best solutions to pain points, needs, and product roadmap
  • Attend and lead events, conferences, partner meetings, client POC calls, etc. for reaching sales goals 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer
    Science, Machine Learning, or related fields
  • Experience and expertise in working with, and conducting software sales with, UAE
    government entities
  • 12+ years of governmental or tech industry experience, including at least 8 years of
    business development experience
  • 8+ years of UAE customer engagement experience
  • 3+ years of managing a lean (~5 people) business team from pre-20 employee on-site
  • 8+ years of quantifiable revenue growth, meeting KPIs, and account management
  • Legal resident, or currently living, in the UAE (Abu Dhabi or Dubai) required
  • Full understanding of UAE and MENA culture, interactions, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior governmental experience and business development activities
  • Come with own connection list and Rolodex of people to reach out to
  • MBA with experience in technology startups, specifically growing sales in the UAE
  • Takes initiative to work independently, knock down barriers, delivers and drives results, agile, communicates proactively, collaborative with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with AI, ML, or related fields
  • Local foreign language competency
