SUMMARY:
This position is a senior level-manufacturing role that must adhere to quality standards and maintain CGMP training and training to applicable standard operating procedures. This role is expected to assist the Production Supervisor in the day-to-day activities of compounding operations. This role serves as a team lead for the production staff to coordinate with quality specialists, warehouse personnel, and train the Compound Operator in processing products according to batch records and company SOPs.   

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist Production Supervisor with the daily and weekly manufacturing scheduling and assignments for personnel. 
  • Operate plant utilities start-up/shutdown as needed 
  • Perform periodic quality checks on manufacturing personnel during the manufacturing process to inspect accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Verify all personnel performing manufacturing tasks have read required SOPs and are qualified to perform manufacturing duties.  
  • Verify all raw materials are released and staged quantities are verified by QA on Work Instruction Sheet. 
  • Verify raw materials measurements/weights for accuracy and verify recorded calculations. 
  • Have proven ability to operate forklifts, skyjacks, and pass required refresher training. 
  • Measure and mix raw materials into finished product according to batch card instructions and SOPs. 
  • Record all lot numbers & expiration dates, and sign off steps on batch cards, review batch records for errors. 
  • Assist and monitor training of Compounding Operator(s) 
  • Contact Production Supervisor or Management if there are any deviations in batch records.  
  • Performs basic maintenance on equipment as needed. 
  • Other duties as may be assigned. 

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • Experience: 5 years in a manufacturing environment in a USDA or FDA regulated facility 
  • Specialized knowledge/training: Pre-weighing and compounding experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred / Experience working in a USDA or FDA regulated environment preferred. 
  • Other skills: Understand and follow written instructions, perform basic mathematical calculations, actively maintain a high level of personal and team safety, expected to be flexible to constant change in a fast-paced environment, frequently stand, perform repetitive manual dexterity, have both arms and legs accessible and occasionally bend, sit, squat, crawl, walk, and reach above shoulder level.  Lift up to 50 lbs. consistently. Able to safely team-lift heavier objects and operate lifting equipment.  Read and comprehend, write, perform basic mathematic calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze.
