Our ImmunoID NeXT Platform® is enabling the development of next generation immuno-oncology therapeutics and diagnostics.
You will join a team of bioinformaticians and software engineers whose mission is to develop robust, high-performance pipelines that can accurately and reliably analyze large volumes of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. This role will specifically focus on developing new capabilities in the emerging field of cell-free DNA / liquid biopsy analysis.
Novel algorithm development related to analysis of cell-free DNA samples.
Integration of new modules into our pipelines and products.
Experimental design and data analysis to support feasibility of new features, and verification/validation of performance.
Work with stakeholders at Personalis to understand requirements and priorities.
At least 5 years’ experience working in bioinformatics pipeline R&D.
Experience developing novel analysis algorithms for NGS.
Statistical and algorithmic understanding of NGS-based somatic variant calling: small variants, copy-number alterations, gene fusions, etc.
Understanding of common NGS-based biomarkers such as TMB, MSI, LOH, HRD, etc.
Fluency in multiple programming/scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, BASH, and R.
Domain knowledge in molecular biology and genomics, particularly in areas of cancer research.
Experience with software development best practices, including: unit testing, continuous integration, issue tracking, software life cycle, and code sharing.
Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
