POSITION TITLE: Manager, Product Development - Data Analytics and DevOps

Location: Flexible; NYC preferred. Remote. 

Reports To: Senior Manager, Product Development - Software Engineering

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Per Scholas is seeking a Manager, Product Development - Data Analytics and DevOps, to become a national Product Development team member. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented, and problem-solving individual with strong technical writing and content development skills, an ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and a strong sense of accountability. To succeed in this role, the Manager of Product Development - Data Analytics and DevOps must be business-minded within our mission focus, developing and refining curriculum content, tools, and resources that meet clients' and learners' high expectations. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • As a subject-matter expert, you will work with the product development team, the instructional team, and other stakeholders to create, implement and revise curriculum materials related to the Data Analytics, DevOps, Software Engineering, etc. domains.
  • Maintain ongoing oversight of training materials to ensure the quality and accuracy of the curriculum.
  • Work with the Product Development team, Technology team, instructors, and administrative leaders throughout the organization to ensure a cohesive approach to advance training materials development.
  • Utilize technology and media to develop dynamic and engaging curriculum content.
  • Identify learning objectives and outcomes based on clients' training needs, training environment, and classroom talent.
  • Design learning activities that are clear, engaging, and aligned with various learning styles (visual, aural, kinesthetic (etc.)
  • Develop solutions (e.g., instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, blended, etc.) that provide relevant, challenging, and productive learning experiences. Finalize materials through reviews, pilot tests, etc.
  • Develop assessment tools to measure training outcomes.
  • Define, document, and maintain the scope of learning materials and supporting documentation. 
  • Communicate clearly inside and outside the team.
  • Research new technical training offerings, upskill and take challenges to develop curriculum content and assessments.
  • Support the instructional team, document and resolve issues with the training products.
  • Complete special projects and requests as opportunities arise.
  • Contribute to fine-tuning our content development process as we scale.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO US:

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, DevOps, Software Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience should include practical application of tools and techniques used in these domains.
  • Demonstrable experience with developing curriculum content or instructional design.
  • BA / BS or equivalent practical/industry experience.
  • Knowledge Agile/Scrum, and SDLC/STLC.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and others. Ability to develop engaging learning materials in data manipulation, visualization, and analysis techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including but not limited to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Puppet).
  • Certification in instructional design, data analytics, DevOps, Cloud, or related areas (e.g., Certified Data Professional (CDP), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CompTIA Data+, AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions, etc.).
  • Experience with AI concepts and copilots in relation to the technical areas.
  • Familiarity and experience with Linux CLI and Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with one or more e-learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate 365, iSpring, etc.
  • Exceptional verbal and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Instructional design methods such as ADDIE or SAM.
  • Knowledge of Bloom's Taxonomy or other educational models.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working on concurrent priority projects while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take ownership over tasks and meet short and long-term deliverables.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and keeping current on the latest trends in learning.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and developing a variety of learning offerings (such as a 15-minute eLearning to multi-week classroom experiences).
  • Experience with Facilitation and coaching various audiences.
  • Experience with Java, C, and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with utilizing AI tools for authoring. 
  • Graphic design skills using Adobe or other products.

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range between $65,000/year and $70,000/year, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
