POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Professional Development

LOCATION: Los Angeles  

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, LA

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Career Readiness Curriculum & Workshops:

  • Conduct comprehensive career development training sessions using an approved curriculum to prepare learners for entry to mid-level jobs in Information Technology.
  • Provide coaching to learners in a diverse range of complex subjects, encompassing interviewing techniques, crafting resumes and cover letters, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, devising effective job search tactics, fostering workplace success, delivering career advancement training, and various other areas of expertise.
  • Design supplementary curriculum to meet evolving learner and employer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Recruiting and Admissions team to onboard and engage new learners effectively.
  • Offer remediation workshops and individual coaching sessions for learners needing extra support.
  • Take full ownership of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) focused on job readiness.

 

Learner Performance & Experience Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for learner questions and issues.
  • Provide ongoing individual career counseling to learners.
  • Ensure accurate data management in our CRM system.
  • Collaborate with technical instructors to prepare learner evaluations.
  • Participate in cross-functional learner progress meetings with other departments.
  • Oversee learner resume uploads into Salesforce.
  • Manage learner attendance and performance policies, including communication with learners not meeting program compliance requirements.
  • Accompany learners to corporate engagement site visits, mock interviews, networking events, and lunch and learns with employer partners.
  • Collaborate with the learner support team to provide wellness and financial support to learners.

 

Career Advisement:

  • Provide personalized guidance and support to individuals regarding job attainment and career progression within their organization.
  • Assist individuals in identifying and planning their career paths, aligning their skills and aspirations with available opportunities.
  • Offer advice on professional development opportunities, training programs, and skill enhancement to aid in career advancement.
  • Collaborate with Talent Solutions to recommend graduates for specific job requisitions, leveraging insights into individual skills and talents.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions to address career concerns, strategize career goals, and provide ongoing support throughout their professional journey within the organization.
  • Facilitate connections with relevant stakeholders, mentors, and departments to broaden career prospects and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of career advisement sessions and contribute to reports evaluating the success of career development initiatives.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:

Professional Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in workforce development with a specific background in job readiness coaching, or education
  • Experience in talent acquisition, organizational development or adult learning in the tech sector, a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in adult classroom training and understanding principles of classroom  instruction 
  • Experience with Salesforce, Google Suite, Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary of $67,500 - $72,500, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including alignment with qualifications and level of experience. Parking is provided.
