ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Manager of Music Reporting with experience in music rights licensing and expertise in music royalty reporting to join our global music team in NYC.
This role will report into the Senior Director of Music Reporting and will manage the process for preparation and delivery of various recurring and ad hoc reports including, but not limited to label, publisher, PRO, and marketing data reporting as well as handling initial responses to partner feedback.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Execution of daily, monthly, and quarterly global music reporting process by ensuring accurate results are delivered timely for internal approval and to external music partners.
- Review reporting results before submitting to key stakeholders; coordinate closely with FP&A and Accounting.
- Main reporting integration lead with labels and PROs.
- Collaborate with Music Business team to ensure reporting requirements reflect what is expected per report and license type.
- Ensure reports conform to agreed specifications.
- Troubleshoot reporting/data issues – gather information, analyze, implement and/or suggest solutions, collaborate with others when needed.
- Manage ongoing general queries and data requests from our music partners.
- Liaise with music platform team and engineers pre and post execution of agreements.
- Liaise with Data Science team to ensure data integrity of reports.
- Main point of contact, internally and externally, for music use and marketing reporting issues.
- Gather a working knowledge of legacy music platform systems to be able to perform data analysis and management as needed.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 5-8 years of relevant music royalty processing experience (ideally in reporting preparation and delivery) at a Record Label, Music Publisher, Collective Management Organization, Digital Music Provider or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Management, or Information Technology is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle high volume of data with accurate execution.
- Strong Excel and Google Sheet skills.
- Effective communication & collaboration skills.
- Excellence in building strong relationships.
- Experience working with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting teams.
- Growth mindset.
- Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced company that will continue to scale and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience dealing with audit claims review and response.
- Data Science experience is a plus.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Previous experience of SOX compliance principles is an advantage.
- Understanding of SQL and SAP is a plus.
