RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take full responsibility of designing, developing and maintaining a world-class testing lab
  • Establish KPI’s that ensure the test lab runs efficiently and performance can be accurately measured. 
  • Supervise a small team of test technicians developing skill and competences to perform a wide range of durability and functional tests on test rigs.
  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance, good health and service history or all department test equipment
  • Support test plans for new product development and sustaining engineering activities 
  • Perform product validation and verification using off-the-shelf testing equipment as well as custom built machinery 
  • Maintain custom test rigs/fixtures to interact with various pieces of exercise equipment 
  • Write exemplary test reports, and monitor other team members reports for accuracy and content
  • Correspond with Taiwan based team with test reports and status updates. Will require morning/evening calls 
  • Establish process and procedures that fully utilizes all available resources – test equipment, people and collected data
  • Provide technical support to technicians for various testing activities 
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and prioritize work queues 
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and where necessary new safety processes are implemented
  • Assume full responsibility for the house keeping of the overall test lab

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required, M.S. preferred 
  • Six sigma certification preferred 
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings 
  • Strong communications skills - knowledge of Mandarin is a plus
