The kind of person we're looking for:

A Software Development leader responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing the bulk-based operations (campaigns, messaging, partners) operations of our platform. We are looking for a smart and innovative hands-on technical manager who is capable of diving into the details to help bring a revolutionary web experience to the users of our SaaS platform: internal and external. You will need to be curious and creative while leading the team to make quick decisions to deliver fast results to our customers. You’re looking to lead and mentor a team of bright, capable engineers to implement the company’s vision and roadmap.  

You will share our passion and great pride in leading an engineering team that strongly believes in designing for scale and performance, rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and an iterative process to build high-quality next generation enterprise front end software. You will partner with various other engineering teams, architects and technical operations team to build a best-of-breed web interface. If you are someone with a track record of building scalable and responsive software systems and closely collaborating with the broader engineering team, then this is the place for you!

The kind of stuff you'll be doing:

  • Own the bulk roadmap and drive its successful execution
  • Design the KPI for the team - link them to the company OKRs and deliver on them
  • SLAs: ensure that we “measure what matters”, and deliver on the SLAs promised to the business and customers
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams, key stakeholders, architects and operations team to help define and refine core team’s roadmap and its execution
  • Design, manage, and contribute to the development of new features and applications, by working with cross-functional teams, product, system architects, UI/UX, and QA
  • Build reusable components that makes it easy for the platform to operate at high performance and scale
  • Ensure that your team have access to the skills, tools, processes, etc. that they need to produce high-quality, on-time software that meets our customers' expectations 
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring the proper structures are in place for the on-time delivery of high-quality product releases 
  • Contribute to the development activities of the team: coding, code review, design reviews, work load/breakdown, time estimates 
  • Clearly communicate schedule and quality expectations and ensure that teams are operating efficiently 
  • Provide regular feedback, technical guidance, and coach/mentor team members 
  • Provide technical thought leadership and help evaluate and adopt emerging technologies/frameworks and 3rd party products

Examples of daily/weekly responsibilities:

  • Organize standup meetings with the team and other engineering managers
  • Be aligned with the Product team and Customer Success teams on changes to priorities and resources
  • Focus on the releases, current and futures - ensure to resolve roadblocks for your team
  • Escalate and resolve issues that depend on other teams (e.g. IT Operations, QA, Product, Customer Success)
  • Work on KPIs, statistics and other metrics needed to communicate with the team and other teams and leadership team
  • Work on recruiting and maintain the team culture of collaboration

The kind of experience you'll need: 

  • 5+ years of experience with leading technical projects and hands-on management of direct reports 
  • Experience working with product/program managers to align on objectives, priorities, trade-offs and risks  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred)

The extra stuff that would be nice:

  • Hands-on knowledge of Atlassian family of products: Jira, Confluence, etc…
  • Experience with hybrid and public clouds
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture
  • Enjoy communicating to all levels engineering management, customer support and technical operations. 
  • A deep understanding of software development in a team environment, and a track record of delivering software on time with high quality
