The Payment Processing Manager oversees daily processing operations, leads payment operations projects and manages multiple payment and other providers. This role involves collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders and team members (locally or at international company locations) to plan and execute strategic projects as well as working with multiple third-party payment providers. Responsibilities include optimizing payment processing workflows, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and executing payment-related projects.
This role will be based in our New York, NY office.
What you'll do:
- Payment Processing Optimization: Analyze and streamline payment processing workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring payment routing optimization strategies
- Day-to-Day Payment Operations: Manage the ongoing operations of all payment processors and alternate payment method relationships. This involves identifying and solving payment issues, providing ad-hoc support on payment challenges, and ensuring smooth processing of various payment methods
- Technical Expertise: Have a deep understanding of how card payments work, including the roles of various players in the payment world. This includes knowledge of card schemes, card payment terminology, and the technical processes involved in authorizing transactions
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with payment providers, including negotiating terms and services, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for the company
- Incident Investigation: Detect and escalate payment-related problems and complex issues, while taking ownership of the resolution process
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all payment operations comply with industry regulations and standards. This includes safeguarding customer funds and managing regulatory or fraud risks associated with card usage
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and analyze payment trends, identify anomalies, and recommend strategies for improvement. Generate reports on payment processing performance and monitor processing KPIs to optimize performance
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Finance, to ensure seamless and flawless operation of payment processing systems and technologies
Who you are:
- 3+ years of experience in the online/mobile payments industry or a relevant fintech company
- In-depth familiarity with card schemes and card payment terminology, along with a strong understanding of payment systems, technologies, and industry best practices
- Ability to provide data-driven financial insights and solve complex challenges
- Strong presentation, problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience with payment operations in a dynamic environment

In accordance with New York City Law, below is the annual base salary range for this position. Actual annual base salary is based on, but not limited to: experience, education, professional licenses, location and business needs. The position is eligible for health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k plan, paid-time off, and sick (and where applicable safe) leave. This position is also eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
The annual base salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $105,000.
