We have paid over $350 million directly to creators on our platform, and our user base has doubled in the last year alone. In order to support this level of growth, we're looking for a Senior Front-end Engineer, Web.

What you will do:

  • Design and prototype new features, while reimagining existing features with fellow engineers.
  • Lead development of critical projects, working with and mentoring other engineers.
  • Collaborate with Patreon designers and product to create the best possible experiences for our creators and patrons.
  • Elevate the quality of our shared codebase, writing highly readable, performant code.
  • Present learnings, review code, and advocate for best practices across the engineering organization.
  • Work with React, Webpack, Babel (EcmaScript 2015) and other modern tools given the opportunity.

Skills and experience you possess:

  • Design and prototype new features, while reimagining existing features with fellow engineers.
  • Lead and contribute to development of critical projects, working with and mentoring other team members.
  • Collaborate with Patreon designers and product to create the best possible experiences for our creators and patrons.
  • Elevate the quality of our shared codebase, writing highly readable, performant code.
  • Present learnings, review code, and advocate for best practices across the engineering organization.
  • Work with React, Webpack, Babel (EcmaScript 2015), Python 3.6, Flask, MySQL, AWS, Redis, and Kafka, introducing other technologies when it makes sense.
  • Work with a supportive team to get things done with the right mix of quality and agility.
  • Advocate for optimized practices across the engineering organization.
  • Collaborate with people from all walks of life, motivated by passion for our shared mission.
  • Build a product that helps creators focus on their work while making a living through our platform.

Projects you may work on:

  • Design, build and deploy scalable stream and graph processing systems to power model training and real-time automated decision making.
  • Expanding our fraud and risk service, which processes thousands of transactions per minute, ensuring our creators and patron are safe and secure.
  • Building tools to help creators manage their businesses, gain insights from their data, and get closer to their biggest fans.
  • Contribute at a global scale.
