One day this person may be working on implementing a ball-pivoting algorithm to mesh a point cloud, and the next day working on a new way to calibrate an industrial robot arm or develop a new path-planning strategy. A bit about the role:

  • Finding solutions and methods to solve new and challenging problems.
  • Develop methods for robot, sensor, and motor calibration.
  • Develop path-planning methods to control robot and manipulators.
  • Implement state-of-the-art methods in software and improve them as necessary.
  • Working with developers to implement new techniques into the primary source code.
  • Performing literature and technology reviews.
  • May also work on developing new methods in fast point cloud manipulation and analysis.

Your background includes:

  • Strong knowledge or experience in mathematical optimization.
  • Experience with C++ and Python
  • Research experience in technical field (engineer, computer scientist, mathematician, or equivalent) and an MS or PhD.
  • Solid fundamentals in numerical methods, simulation, and coding.
  • Excellent mathematical fundamentals.

These skills and experiences are also highly important to:

  • Strong knowledge or experience in mathematical optimization.
  • Experience with C++ and Python
  • Experience with deep-learning and tensorflow.
  • Computer vision: 3D model matching or stereo vision.
  • General robotics: path-planning, inverse kinematics, and non-linear dynamics.
