We are a virtual company with hubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Boston and Greater San Diego. All of our roles are remote at this time. It would be fantastic if candidates are located by our hubs but not a requirement. Candidates must be located in the United States.

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director, DMPK to join the Translational Sciences team at Pardes Biosciences. The primary responsibilities for this position will be to develop strategies and oversee DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics) activities to progress Pardes programs from lead identification, optimization through early and clinical development to approval. Level can be flexible based on experiences.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Represent the ADME, PK/PD and Clinical Pharmacology discipline in project teams, collaborate with cross-functional teams of biology, chemistry, translational sciences, and clinical development in nominating and advancing the drug candidates from discovery through early and clinical development to approval.
  • Responsible for leading the design and execution of preclinical in vitro and in vivo DMPK studies, interpreting and translating preclinical data to the prediction of clinical PK, PK/PD and safety, and supporting the design of clinical pharmacology studies and dose selection of the late phase clinical trials.
  • Accountable for identifying and employing new ideas and approaches that address the nonclinical and clinical project issues related to the DMPK sciences
  • Work with subject matter external partners to support the application and integration of modeling and simulation tools to efficiently advance the clinical candidate selection and development.
  • Author high quality regulatory documents and address regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • PhD, Pharm D in Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Science, biochemistry, Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of biotech/pharmaceutical experience in drug discovery and/or development settings
  • Critical thinking and scientific skills with in-depth knowledge of drug metabolism, PK, PK/PD and clinical pharmacology; demonstrate strong understanding of technical aspects and methodologies for in vitro and in vivo ADME and PK evaluation; familiarity with standard ADME/PK modelling tools such as Phoenix.
  • Experience in selecting external CROs, managing and overseeing the work at CROs and partners is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with scientists on cross-functional projects teams, and comfortable to work at a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills
