Reporting to the SVP, Finance,  the Director, Finance is responsible for owning all aspects of financial operations at Parallel. You will manage FP&A, and oversee accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating workflows, and processes and managing financial tools. This is a role at an early-stage technology company and we’re looking for a trusted partner that works well in ambiguity and scale.
 

Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting efforts.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries as needed.
  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Collaborate on cost/inventory accounting functions as needed.
  • Support financial planning process through strategic plan, financial plan, and quarterly forecast processes.
  • Deliver presentations that tell the story; summarize key insights for leaders.
  • Evaluate financial results to analyze the financial impact of operating results,  highlighting risks and opportunities as well as providing strategic and tactical recommendations to leaders.
  • Oversee insurance and risk management.
  • Hire, train, and retain finance staff.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Director of Finance.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficient in MS Office and financial management software.
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prepare documentation required for financial assistance awards (grants and cooperative agreements).
  • Interacting with high-level contacts such as Program Directors concerning grant and cooperative agreements.
  • Experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining MRP applications to support manufacturing operations
  • Experience working with BPO for finance and accounting support
  • CPA or MBA 

 

Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level. Also, this range represents base salary only and does not include equity or benefits, if applicable.
