Paperless Post seeks an experienced e-commerce leader and consummate taste-maker to help oversee our e-commerce store for an extended, temporary length of time. Launched in 2021, the newly created Party Shop offers users a curated assortment of unique products spanning from tabletop, party supplies, decor, and gifts. This temporary role will step in as the end-to-end owner of the business, curating product selection, running the website, and working closely with cross-functional teams to bring seasonal stories to life. This role will be responsible to the VP of Merchandising and eCommerce. 

Responsibilities:

Merchandising

  • Merchandising of categories to align with sales performance, marketing efforts, product launches, and promotions; building and managing curated categories and seasonal selections as needed 
  • Execute updates to navigation, filters, product recommendations, and other category adjustments
  • Oversee/execute seasonal updates and promotion execution in conjunction with marketing efforts.
  • Source, select, and onboard new vendors and products in partnership with the VP and in alignment with the overall Party Shop vision and assortment strategy
  • Drive assortment selection and curation for new and existing partners 
  • Identify new opportunity categories and trends in partnership with the VP

Operations & Vendor Management

  • Daily review of all orders in all systems to troubleshoot any issues or delays
  • Manage day-to-day vendor communication
  • Work closely with CustOps to resolve any order or vendor issues
  • New vendor outreach and onboarding in partnership with the VP

Marketing Partnership

  • In partnership with marketing, own all onsite holiday execution 
    • Manage seasonal sample selection and holiday shoot
    • Execute seasonal merchandising plan
    • Manage the creation of all seasonal assets and ensure they are merchandised on-site
    • Execution of seasonal campaigns and promotions, including onsite execution and email and social campaigns to support
  • Support email marketing team with campaigns from conceptualization to set up and deployment

Daily / Weekly Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of performance and adjusting merch strategy to accommodate where we see opportunities 
  • Maintain website functionality; responsible for executing and QA-ing content updates (homepage, landing pages, etc) to the website
  • Keep all cross-functional merchandising calendars and cross-functional tools up-to-date and manage communication across teams as it relates to Party Shop
  • Manage Shopify contractor and help with end-to-end QA of new product launches; ensure all products are tagged accurately and flow into the correct category pages
  • Manage additional contractors as needed (design, engineering)

Special Projects

  • Affiliate and Personalization: help build our specialized assortments with new curated landing pages and new products
  • Specialty product assortment: help build out our specialty product assortment by researching, presenting, and potentially onboarding new partners who have exciting and interesting party products that help add texture and differentiation to our assortment 

Reporting

  • Weekly high-level reporting
  • Ad-hoc reports for any sales, product drops, initiatives, etc.
  • Seek opportunities to grow the online business

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in E-Commerce based businesses with an emphasis on site merchandising
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Shopify experience required
  • Some technical skills a plus (HTML, CSS)
  • Prior experience using Asana is a plus
  • Strong analytical/ data-driven mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills 
  • You are a creative thinker, taste-maker, and design aficionado, and ideally, you enjoy hosting yourself!

The compensation range for this role is $40-45 per hour (based on experience).

This temporary, part-time role starts around 6/17/24 and ends around 10/28/24. Our ideal candidate would be available for ~20-25 hours per week. This role can be hybrid and work out of our NYC office if the candidate is local or remote in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Washington.
