Purpose of Position

The next couple of years at Pantheon are going to be even more exciting as Operations transforms into a data-led department that incorporates technologies at the forefront of the Private Equity industry into its standard operating model. The transformation workflow is a fundamental redesign of all core processes to ensure that they’re industry leading, best in class and scalable for the next generation. This is a permanent position for an Senior Associate within the Transaction Management Team, which sits within the Operations Department. The department is largely responsible for the preparation, input and reporting of all financial and analytical client data both internally and externally for the Firm. The focus of the team is ensuring the accurate set up of investment vehicles, as well as the onboarding of new investors into the internal reporting system. Another key deliverable of the team is the input of all investment-related cashflows into the in-house database. This must be completed based on daily deadlines to facilitate both timely reconciliations and investor reporting. Responsibilities of the team also include resolving cash breaks, updating FX rates, answering queries from internal and external stakeholders and making payments using several different banking websites. The role of the Senior Associate is to manage the team and oversee their day-to-day activities, ensuring all deliverables are met within the required deadlines and executed to a high standard.. They
will be responsible for holding frequent 121 sessions with each team member in order to provide constructive feedback and assist with their career progression. The Senior Associate will be required to introduce initiatives to keep the morale of the team high and make sure individuals are motivated and focussed.
The successful candidate will also make key decisions on behalf of the team regarding how transactions for new investments and investors (many complex and non-standard) are reflected in the Investment Book of Records and will set and update transaction booking policies. They will also be responsible for leading workstreams for change and promoting and driving through process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting, maintaining and updating the team policy on transaction bookings and setup of new deals and investors in IBOR.
- Review and approval of new investments and investors into IBOR..
- Mentoring, encouraging and supporting team development.
- Monitors performance and progress of individuals, providing regular feedback and coaching.
- Ensuring all daily tasks are completed by the team before close of business.
- Liaising within Operations and the wider business to ensure Monthly/Quarterly deliverables are achieved.
- Sets goals for the team and allocates ownership to individuals.
- Owning key relationships with internal/external stakeholders with the aim of building up relationships and preventing process issues.
- Actively participates and leads workstreams for change initiatives.
- Anticipates risk and pro-actively takes action to mitigate.
- Helping find answers to complex ad-hoc queries.
- Working in a close-knit team who like to socialise together inside and outside of working hours.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Excellent communication skills. Expert in influencing and motivating individuals and teams and used to operating up and down a multi-tiered management structure.
- Ability to work in a busy team, working with multiple project deadlines.
- Knowledge of Excel is essential.
