Purpose of Position

Pantheon require a passionate hands-on Data Support Engineer to support the delivery of change to existing systems as well as conduct analysis for root cause & software issues.

Pantheon is at the start of a multi-year programme to establish itself as a data centric organisation with this role being integral to the on-going support to the Business which will be critical as the transformation continues.

You will be working with an established tech stack and proven experience of supporting traditional data warehouses is core to the role.

You will be part of a small and highly skilled team and you will need to be passionate about providing best in class solutions to our global user base.

Key Responsibilities

To be successful in the role you will be expected to:

  • Support the Data Team Lead in continuously delivering changes to existing system
  • Develop, modify, implement, and support software components.
  • Determine root cause for data / software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
  • Communicate with the stakeholders and peers on a frequent basis, identifying risks, issues and dependencies and working with other tech leads and IT groups to resolve
  • Assist in task planning, estimation, and scheduling deployments
  • Carry out design, code, and test peer reviews throughout project providing technical guidance and to identify issues. Feedback technical status and issues.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Understands and complies with all relevant IT and Security policies and procedures ensuring compliance across all project technical deliverables.

Essential Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in developing & supporting Azure data focused systems
  • Experience in traditional Data Warehouse technologies (ETL, SQL Database, Reporting)
  • Knowledge of Dimension Modelling
  • Strong SQL skills, experience in writing complex SQL queries
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks and Functions

Essential Experience

  • Experience in supporting traditional Data Warehouses
  • Exposure in building Azure based data ingestion and transformation pipelines, data lake, data warehouse / data marts etc.
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies such as Kanban/Scrum
  • A natural problem-solving attitude.
  • Conversant with current industry and technology trends.
  • Experience with dealing directly with stakeholders and business users
