The Role

As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing our data warehouse which is heavily used across all the data teams in the company. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end process for our data solutions (Replication, governance, ETL, Integrations, data modeling, semantic layer, data tuning, performance, monitoring, data quality, etc.). This role involves working with major SaaS platforms like Google Big Query, GCS, Snowflake, Salesforce, Netsuite, Zuora and executing a strategy in cross-functional initiatives. It requires experience with a user-oriented approach to problems, focusing on software products and technologies.

Cool Things You’ll Do

  • Design and implement effective data warehouse solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
  • Define and implement optimal governance structures, architectural standards, and compliance processes within the data warehouse to ensure conformance of all technology projects.
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
  • Maintain and develop the enterprise data management tools (data dictionary, data catalog)
  • Work with the data team and the business, to make sure we have all the data points in the data warehouse
  • Coordinate with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines
  • Work with BI teams on data design and data warehouse best practices
  • Understand the desired business strategy and outcome, and break it down into defined parts, including systems, processes, and functions
  • Lead API strategy: Translate and map business use cases into API architectural designs; apply critical and innovative thinking to technology strategies that further business objectives while keeping in mind performance, reliability, scalability, usability, security, flexibility, and cost
  • Understand and own document artifacts of the data warehouse architecture and interfacing systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, Marketing tooling and various data logs.
  • Load new data points into the data warehouse.

What you Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years experience as a data architect
  • Experience in building ontologies and semantic model
  • 3+ years of experience working with Google Big Query
  • 2+ years of experience working with Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • 2 + years of Data Engineering experience working with both distributed architectures, ETL, EDW, and Big Data technologies
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data sources using cloud analytics
  • Experience with DWBI modeling framework is highly regarded
  • Experience with Data Mapping and Modeling
  • Experience with data warehouse ETL build, and design
  • Experience with Google Cloud Storage is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Experience with Looker is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization; experience working effectively on virtual teams
  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency to drive multiple projects to successful completion
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in driving projects when the approach, challenges, and key objectives start out very unclear
