Recycling Yard Associate Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6AM - 4:30PM

Recycling Yard Associate Environment: 

The Yard Associate will be working outside all day, all year round. There is often heavy equipment on site and running machinery; therefore proper ppe such as hard hats, safety glasses, high vis, steel toed boots must be worn at all times. It is often loud due to the machinery. In this role, you can expect it to be dusty and dirty from metal grease, oil and dirt. 

Position Summary for Recycling Yard Associate: 

The Yard Associate- FRU is responsible for the timely conversion of vehicles from “drivable to shreddable.” This role will be responsible for the preparation of vehicles by removing all upgradeable parts and operating the machines that remove all required vehicle fluids. The job is completely outdoors and will be highly physical in nature. The role will report efficiency and production metrics on a daily basis.   

  • Prepare vehicles for fluid removal by removing tires, batteries, and Freon prior to placing the vehicle on the draining rack.
  • Operate the fluid recovery unit, draining fuel, oil, antifreeze, and other vehicle fluids from each vehicle.
  • Track and report daily production numbers.
  • Prepare finished product packages of aluminum rims, batteries, and other nonferrous grades for shipment.= 

Qualifications for Recycling Yard Associate: 

  • Six months operating small equipment experience preferred (hilo, forklift, skidsteer, loader, backho, bobcat)
  • Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge 
  • Desire to work outside in the elements
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Accuracy in operation and attention to detail
  • Knowledge in inventory control
