About Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC)

Following 9/11, the community and civic planning process that resulted in the World Trade Center master plan in 2003 envisioned a new performing arts center as one of the anchors of the site. The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) opened in the Fall of 2023 realizing that plan and becoming the new home for emergent and established artists in theater, dance, music, opera, and multi-disciplinary performance from New York and the world in downtown Manhattan.

The role

PAC NYC is looking for an organized, driven, and mission-oriented Development Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of donor events. This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up team that will cultivate a network of donors and partners, provide a world-class stakeholder experience, and ensure engaging and impactful events. The Development Events Manager should have experience ideating, planning and executing donor events, designed to engage prospective and existing donors, and with a view to meeting larger organizational fundraising strategies.

Your key responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct donor events, acting as the liaison between PAC NYC, donors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Ideate and implement donor event strategy to support departmental fundraising goals.
  • Working with senior Development team, develop and control budgets on an event basis. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, responsible for achieving and reporting on target earned revenue goals as generated by donor events.
  • Provide regular reports and analyses on donor events and engagement to senior Development team and other stakeholders. 
  • Working with Marketing and senior management, generate all correspondence to prospective and current donors, including invites and thank-you letters.
  • Work with Development Operations regarding list and donor data management.
  • Track event RSVPs and assist with seating.
  • Develop concept designs and coordinate mailings of promotional materials and invitations, and direct logistical planning.
  • Negotiate and contract with vendors for various goods and services related to special event planning.
  • Responsible for third-party management of delivery vehicles, photographers, florists, catering, and transportation services to ensure a seamless event experience for all parties.
  • Working with Marketing, support generation of social media and digital content to emphasize donor events and encourage support.
  • Maintain records on event activities, progress, status, and post-event summaries.
  • Attend events to take care of activities and make sure details are handled as planned.
  • Address any event issues that may arise in a timely manner and remain on-site after the event is over to ensure proper clean-up.
  • Direct internal staff and vendors involved in event planning and execution.
  • Monitor the delivery of goods and services to ensure contract terms are satisfied.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive network of internal and external contacts to facilitate event coordination.
  • Determine staffing needs for donor events. Authorize or secure additional staff as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

What it takes to be successful in the role

  • 3+ years in donor and/or fundraising events management and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A team player who doesn't look at any task as too small.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content management.
  • Proficiency in using donor databases and CRM software, such as Spektrix. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.  
  • Passion for the performing arts and a commitment to PAC NYC's mission.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary will range between $70,000 and $80,000 plus full benefits. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment and disability benefits, and self-insured dental, vision and health care and dependent day care flexible spending accounts. Full time employees are eligible for paid time off and 401K enrollment with employer match.
