Role:

As a Product Designer at Ownwell you will be working across platforms to elevate Ownwell’s offering in a variety of digital and physical ways. Having an adept capacity to apply appropriate design methodologies to match the requisites of the projects is key. We have a rapidly growing product which is catalyzed by a fast-paced environment. Nimbleness matched with efficacy are intrinsic qualities to this role.

A great fit for this role will love talking to others about their work in structured and unstructured settings. A person who thinks great product design ideas can come from anyone in the company, and has an open ear to those perspectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end design efforts across all our platforms, from conception with stakeholders to final implementation with engineering.
  • Balance working on multiple projects at once, working with the team to prioritize the highest impact work and ensure development is unblocked.
  • Include a variety of perspectives in the design process. Leveraging the diverse talent and knowledge in the office to elevate your work and the product.
  • Utilize a wide gamut of methodologies to communicate product and design ideas effectively.
  • Ensure high-quality execution with the engineering teams by clearly communicating implementation details and QA-ing product that’s ready to ship.
  • Research other offerings in the market to understand competitor experiences and industry trends and best practices.
  • Promote and evangelize effective design and development processes with a mentality for efficiency and simplicity.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in interface and user experience design at a consumer internet company, where your work has led to successful product outcomes.
  • A portfolio of design projects that demonstrate strong process, execution, and taste.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design communication tools.
  • Comfort in navigating ambiguity and a knack for translating high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transforming them into beautiful, intuitive and functional designs.
  • You take pride in building simple, human-centered experiences that appeal to a broad audience, balancing design-forward thinking with approachability.
  • A proven track record in working closely with Product Managers to develop and refine product requirements, creating solutions, and getting buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Experience maintaining, contributing to, or creating design systems.
  • A keen appreciation of the value of customer research, and a strong playbook for how to maximize insights between analytics, session replay tools, usability testing, and direct customer interviews.
  • Experience designing for various platforms and knowledgeable about the differences in design patterns and technical capacities between Web, iOS, and Android.
