Role Summary:

We’re looking for a Sales Operations Manager to join our growing business develop team. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner comfortable handling a wide range of responsibilities, demonstrate flexibility and comfort with ambiguity, and, most importantly, embody a “whatever it takes” attitude in optimizing our sales processes and enabling the business development team’s success in meeting bookings targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Pipeline Development:
    • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to drive long-term bookings growth
    • Analyze government budgets and conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and guide strategic directions.
    • Grow the top of the sales funnel by identifying and qualifying new opportunities for the team to pursue.
    • Manage sales analysis and reporting, ensuring accurate and insightful data is available to drive strategic decision-making by company leadership
  • Operational Management:
    • Administer the sales team's software tools and platforms, optimizing configuration and ensuring seamless integration with other business systems.
    • Oversee the sales budget, including tracking of spending against budget forecasts.
    • Facilitate communication and alignment across sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Pitch and Proposal Support:
    • Develop sales collateral and pitch decks that effectively communicate the value propositions of Overland AI’s products.
    • Support the drafting of proposals, white papers, and other customer-facing documents to support business development efforts.
    • Manage the overall proposal writing process, working cross-functionally to enable internal stakeholders to contribute, as necessary, while ensuring all deadlines are met 
  • Event Coordination and Support:
    • Identify industry trade shows, government-run symposiums, and other relevant events. Organize and coordinate Overland AI’s participation to maximize visibility and engagement.
    • Support the execution of events, ensuring that Overland AI’s presence is impactful and aligned with strategic sales goals.
  • Customer Engagement:
    • As needed, fill in for Business Development leaders to directly communicate with customers, understand their needs, and effectively communicate the value of Overland AI's products.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create detailed bookings forecasts and pipeline analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective sales processes
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth market research and analysis of government budget documents to identify growth opportunities 
  • Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial and “scrappy” in the identification, creation, and pursuit of new opportunities 
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity amid a fast-moving, rapidly growing business
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to problems while supporting the success of all team members
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure close coordination between the business development, operations, and product teams.


Preferred locations for this position are Seattle, Detroit, San Francisco, or the Washington DC area. Frequent travel expected.
