WHO YOU ARE:
You are a finance wizard with robust analytical, quantitative and modeling skills. You are comfortable being responsible for owning all aspects of financial operations. You are excited by the startup environment and experienced in creating workflows and introducing new financial tools. This is a role at an early-stage aerospace company where you will report to the CEO and work closely with Operations. We’re looking for a trusted partner that works well in uncertainty and can help build our organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- 3-5 years of financial modeling experience preferably with an investment banking or private equity background
- A minimum of 5+ years of Finance experience; experience in a high growth environment
- Prior financial audit experience
- Experience with Financial Planning Tools
- Familiarity with Quickbooks, Procurify, Gusto, Expensify, Bill.com and Excel.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience with finance in a startup environment.
- Experience raising venture capital or debt.
- Experience with strategic partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the topline model and forecasting process, ensuring deliverables and timelines are adhered to and analyze results.
- Create and improve company-wide financial policies such as reimbursements, expenses, and purchasing.
- Manage FP&A, oversee accounting operations, and prepare the company for financial audits
- Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and taxes.
- Own monthly reporting check-in and be able to lead the team through a discussion of variances, and recommend real-time changes to budgeting and cash management accordingly.
- Contribute to development of budget, forecasting, and analyses to be used for key activities or decision making.
- Model cash flow scenarios and financials to establish capital needs.
- Always be keeping an eye on the financial health of the company and looking for room for improvement to recommend to the team.
- In collaboration with the Chief of Staff, support the preparation of meeting materials including financial reports and lookbacks to support clear communications and understanding at the executive and board level.
- Develop KPIs to monitor operational and financial performance of the company.
- Maintain account reconciliations and work with an outside tax accounting firm to provide any collateral needed for filing taxes, as applicable
- Conduct audits of company expenditures, liabilities, and assets. Prepare the company for audited financials.
- Manage the company procurement process through Procurify including setting up workflows, making sure things are being coded appropriately, approving purchases, generating and submitting purchase orders.
- Facilitate the creation of accounts with vendors and establish payment terms and processes.
- Generate and track invoices including those with government agencies,; process invoices for payment.
- Review fixed asset accounts to ensure proper account coding and compliance with Outpost's capitalization policy.
- Maintain and reconcile monthly lease activity and compliance with ASC 842
