About Otto Aviation
OTTO is developing the world’s first fifth-generation business jet, designed for sustainability through the innovative use of advanced super-laminar aerodynamics and high-precision, net-shaped composites. Flight tests of our technology demonstrator validate a dramatic reduction in fuel burn and allow a sizeable improvement in cabin comfort. Otto Aviation is designing world-class aircraft from first principles physics and delivering ground-breaking aircraft and economic performance.
Role Overview
Otto Aviation is seeking a dynamic engineer to join our Aircraft Integration Team. The ideal candidate will have a background in performing systems safety analyses throughout the lifecycle of an aircraft development program. You will be joining a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Otto Aviation is seeking first principles engineers that work great in a team atmosphere and know how to get things done.
Responsibilities
- Be a functioning team member within Otto’s Aircraft Integration Team.
- Define Systems Safety processes, policies, procedures, and necessary software solutions.
- Develop Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Reports, reliability analysis, etc. and mitigation plans.
- Assess engineering documents, data, and artifacts to ensure component and system level safety compliance; identify and mitigate potential and existing hazards.
- Coordinate directly with system owners to identify areas of opportunity for design improvements, minimize risk to people and property, and ensure that all aspects of system safety are addressed and communicated throughout the program.
- Plan, define, and verify system safety requirements and develop safety analysis artifacts to ensure design integrity and safety.
- Establish safety tools and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency for production process planning and optimization.
