Founded in Amsterdam and headquartered in the cloud, Otrium also has hubs in New York and London. Otrium is growing to become the world’s premier online destination for excess fashion. To support this growth, we’re scaling up our fulfilment network and taking the supply chain to the next level. To support these developments we’re looking for an experienced Procurement Manager (3PL/Transport) to support our expanding global network of warehouse operators and last mile carriers. In this role you’ll spearhead the development of the procurement strategy for our Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and automation equipment suppliers.

As Procurement Manager (3PL/Transport) you own the commercial relationship with and are co-responsible for the operational performance of our LSPs (both 3PL and last mile carriers) and suppliers of warehouse automation technologies across our growing global distribution network. 

In this role you report into the Director Fulfilment & Warehousing and you will work closely with the following internal and external stakeholders:

  • Supply chain (warehousing and fulfilment, process excellence and data analytics)
  • LSP and automation vendors
  • Finance
  • VP Operations

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop procurement strategy and capabilities in line with operational strategy that will support the company’s supply chain network development, warehousing automation roadmaps and sustainability agenda
  • Develop a network of best-in-class suppliers that strike the right balance for Otrium’s business model, growth ambitions and stage of market development across the various geographies
  • Set up and manage tender processes for logistics service providers and warehouse automation suppliers
  • Owns contract negotiations and SLA management processes for LSPs
  • Leads QBR process with LSPs
  • Sparring partner for supply chain leadership team with business case creation for logistics services and large-scale capex investments
  • Realise value generation and margin improvements in line with financial targets and implement value share mechanisms with 3PLs
  • Create center of excellence for supply chain services procurement

Experience, knowledge & skills:

  • Ideally you have about 6-8 years of experience of a combination of commercial relationship management and operational responsibility within logistics services industry and e-commerce supply chains
  • Previous track record to include at least 3 years of key account management on the sales side of ecommerce logistics services providers and 2 years of operational e-commerce warehousing or logistics
  • Experience with managing complex logistics services tenders (involving large scale Capex and long-term efficiency improvement targets) 
  • In-depth understanding of fast-growing e-commerce warehouse operations, IT systems data flows and warehouse performance KPIs (service and costs)
  • Needs to have in-depth knowledge of automation / mechanisation and understand what is and what is not appropriate
    3PL or technical warehouse hardware procurement experience nice to have
  • Experience working across multiple geographies and cultures nice to have
  • Successful track record in scaling up network capacity through footprint expansion and long-term partnering with service providers
  • Track record in building effective long-term business relationships

  • Ability to drive decision making whilst balancing the needs and interests of multiple stakeholders
  • Long-term strategic thinker able to translate vision into strategy and effectively lead roadmap implementation
  • Analytical and data driven
  • Ability to work independently but is service-oriented and eager to collaboratively improve processes and address pain points of operational teams
  • Being able to effectively switch between long term strategic planning and supporting daily operations as escalation point on an ad-hoc basis
  • Affinity with SC KPIs and understanding of e-commerce financial metrics and operating models.
  • Excellent, proactive and outspoken communicator,
  • Fun, energetic and involved colleague with a large dose of tea
