The Role:
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Orum, you will play a crucial role in shaping the backbone of our cloud infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud technologies to ensure scalability, performance, and seamless developer workflows. Your focus will be on building robust AWS infrastructure, automating operational tasks, and improving our CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable deployment of features.
You will have the opportunity to design, build, and maintain internal tooling that drives the efficiency of our platform, allowing us to scale and deliver innovative fintech solutions. This role will have a significant impact on how we utilize AWS, Terraform, and modern infrastructure technologies to enhance our platform and developer experience.
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and scaling Orum's cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will help optimize internal systems, enable faster deployment cycles, and ensure that our platform is built for growth. Specifically, you will:
- Master the intricacies of our AWS cloud environment, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
- Implement and manage Terraform to automate infrastructure as code (IaC), making our environments more reliable and easier to manage.
- Refine and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to increase developer productivity and improve deployment speed.
- Develop and maintain internal tools that help streamline operations and reduce the burden of manual tasks.
- Improve our infrastructure's resilience and performance through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.

Your Impact:
In this role, your contributions will be pivotal. Here’s what you can expect to achieve:
Within One Month:
- Quickly integrate into the team by engaging with our ongoing projects and technology stack.
- Push your first line of production code, celebrating this milestone with the team.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of our AWS infrastructure and security frameworks.
- Contribute to ongoing projects and begin identifying opportunities for improvement in our infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop familiarity with our operational challenges and compliance requirements, understanding how they impact security and infrastructure.
Within Three Months:
- Lead the implementation of at least one major infrastructure scalability or security enhancement project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and how they align with our platform's capabilities, ensuring secure and scalable solutions.
- Begin to influence the strategic direction of our platform engineering practices by proposing innovative solutions and improvements.
- Enhance developer productivity by streamlining our deployment and integration processes, making security and infrastructure updates less intrusive.
Within Six Months:
- Drive significant improvements across multiple areas of our platform, notably in performance, scalability, and security.
- Successfully manage several key projects from concept to deployment, demonstrating measurable improvements in our infrastructure's resilience and security.
- Act as a thought leader in platform infrastructure, shaping our strategies for future development and preemptively addressing emerging challenges.
- Mentor junior engineers and peers on best practices fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Evaluate and refine our disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring they are robust and aligned with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Pay Transparency
At Orum, we pride ourselves on articulating a clear and transparent philosophy around equitable, impartial compensation that will allow us to recruit and retain an exceptional team. Base salary is market driven at the point in time of offer and is based on tier 1 market data. The initial base salary for this role will range between $150,000 to $180,000 and an initial offer is determined on a few factors including applicant skills, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews, and leveling.
