Orbital Therapeutics is currently seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, collaborative and creative individual with experience in immunology, looking to join an outstanding research team dedicated to designing and executing studies using a new generation of RNA medicines. This individual will enjoy working in a pioneering, fast-paced, and collaborative start-up environment with the opportunity to coordinate studies focused on vaccines and immunomodulation, while also exploring core immunological aspects of Orbital’s RNA technology.
Responsibilities:
Work both independently and as part of a team to design, plan and execute experiments that evaluate and characterize key immunological readouts.
Effectively execute experiments evaluating both in vitro and ex vivo immune readouts, using ELISA, flow cytometry, and other related techniques.
Develop and troubleshoot novel cell-based assays.
Support projects in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of scientists.
Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communications skills.
Effectively plan and organize work activities to meet timelines.
Communicate data findings to the scientific team and key stakeholders within the company.
Crosstrain fellow researchers in lab-based activities.
Qualifications:
B.S./M.S. with 6+ years or Ph.D. with 0-1 years of experience in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
Extensive tissue culture experience, including cell-line maintenance and primary cell handling.
Extensive expertise in ELISA (or similar assays), flow cytometry and familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques.
Experience processing tissue samples from in vivo studies preferred.
Experience with ELISpot and Luminex platform is a plus.
Prior experience with direct reports is a plus.
Possess excellent organizational skills and “can-do” attitude.
Execution focused, team-oriented, and highly motivated with strong written and oral presentation skills.
