Job Purpose: 

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing, go-to-market strategies that drive product adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth. As a key member of our dynamic Marketing team, you will implement all aspects of the product marketing process, from go-to-market strategy to product packaging and positioning to sales training. As an expert cross-collaborator, you will drive alignment with teams, including Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success, to position our products effectively in the market and deliver compelling messaging that resonates with our target audiences.

Responsibilities

Product Marketing 

  • Go-to-Market Strategy & Planning: Work cross-functionally to “quarterback” the definition, planning, and execution of the GTM strategy including defining buyer personas, identifying target audiences, tailoring messaging and positioning, and driving interest in Optoro’s Return Management System (RMS).
  • Product Marketing Plan & Operations: Execute product marketing plans, ensuring all aspects are effectively executed. Develop and launch critical PMM processes like product releases, meeting cadences, feedback loops, asset distribution, win/loss processes, and misc. Processes as needed.
  • Product Messaging / Positioning: Drive strategic messaging and positioning initiatives: develop, refine and implement high impact and differentiated positioning and messaging with an emphasis on driving clarity and interest with prospects and customers. Develop strategies to target accounts and generate qualified opportunities.
  • Customer Interviews: Facilitate various types of prospect and customer interviews including persona insight, case studies, win/loss interviews and more to gain insight and qualitative research to steer product roadmap, marketing efforts, and sales strategies.
  • Product Releases: Understand upcoming product initiatives, draft customer-facing release notes, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration for the semi-annual product releases.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Stay closely connected to product managers to serve as a subject matter expert on our product in support of marketing programs, press, and analyst relations.

Sales Enablement

  • Sales Enablement & Product Collateral: Develop and deliver high-impact sales tools such as collateral, presentations, case studies, pitch decks, competitive positioning, etc. Create sales training materials that cover industry trends, value proposition, and competitive positioning.
  • Buying / Sales Cycle Analysis: Blueprint the buyer’s journey and map buyer decisions / information needs at each stage.

Business Acumen

  • Market Insights & Trends: Independently gather, analyze and synthesize data to prioritize market trends & client needs, identify best practices, and articulate product requirements.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Develop informed point of view on where competition is headed or will emerge (and why), and how to win, and utilize subject matter expertise to influence internal strategies. Maintain a robust competitive intelligence library of competitor overviews, battlecards, and “why we win” data.

Requirements:

  • You have 5+ years of B2B product marketing or strategy consulting experience in retail technology and/or the supply chain industry
  • Track record of success bringing new products to market.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling positioning, messaging, content and sales enablement tools that resonate with decision makers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Effective presenter.
  • Proven track record of taking strategic decisions and successfully executing them in a fast-moving environment.
  • Exceptional cross-collaborator with a strong ability to drive alignment across teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to derive insights from data for decision-making.

This role is remote eligible in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia. The pay range for this position is $128,000-140,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for a full range of benefits including stock options, annual bonus, and (commission).
