Multi-site Dermatology Group Seeks Patient Accounts Representative Portsmouth, NH
Optima Dermatology is recruiting a Patient Accounts Representative to join our Practice Support Center, based in Portsmouth, NH. Remote and hybrid opportunities available.
Position Details:
Reporting directly to the Billing Supervisor, the Patient Account Specialist is responsible for ensuring collection of assigned patient accounts with the goal of providing patient-focused customer service and achieving the departmental goal of ensuring maximum revenue and cash flow.
Work requires the knowledge of Excel, third party billing software, and ability to resolve complex problem accounts individually with limited supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform timely and detailed follow-up and outreach as needed to patients to obtain accurate billing information
- Review clearinghouse rejection reports and correct errors such as policy numbers or incorrect insurance information
- Respond to inquiries regarding billing and account related matters
- Ability to explain statement balances clearly to patients
- Ability to identify and resolve credit balances
- Work collaboratively with staff
- Assist in the development of department policies and procedures
- Provides support and coverage as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in a medical/healthcare environment, such as a hospital, physician office or ambulatory clinic
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
