OpenStore is Keith Rabois’ Miami-based Series B startup, founded in March 2021, valued at more than $970M. OpenStore is reimagining the future of e-commerce. Today, we're building the technology and team to identify, value, acquire and scale long-tail e-commerce brands. We envision a future where emerging e-commerce brands have access to instant liquidity for their businesses and where consumers have ready access to the best small-brand products.

Behind the scenes, we’re a team of experienced founders, operators, and software engineers who saw a chance to change the e-commerce landscape. We have grown our team 5x in size within the first year and are eager to continue expanding our team with humble achievers committed to excellence.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re looking for a world class Performance and Development Lead (HRBP) for the People team at OpenStore. This is not your standard Human Resources role as many companies have compartmentalized the function, the primary focus of this role is to build and enable growth throughout the organization through consultative guidance, coaching, programming, and policy creation.

Our goal is for this person to be a strategic partner to the business by aligning our priorities with mission critical objectives while fostering an environment that enables everyone to reach their full potential through uplifting others around them. We are looking for someone that takes a proactive, innovative, and solutions oriented approach to arrive at pragmatic outcomes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Partner with leadership to create comprehensive employment strategies aligning initiatives with prioritization of the business.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the business, leading strategic discussions to build and grow teams holistically.
  • Build and maintain programs related to learning and development, compensation planning, employee engagement, performance reviews, talent reviews, succession planning, and organizational design.
  • Create and implement policies that make sense and ensure corporate compliance.
  • Leverage data to evaluate and optimize processes for operational efficiency, primarily focused on performance management and retention. Our goal is to provide coaching and guidance to our employees to enable their development within the organization.
  • Partner with key stakeholders within the finance, legal, communications, and people functions to provide appropriate perspective and align each stakeholder while working toward a common goal.
  • Build credibility and trust among employees.
  • Provide feedback and facilitate open and honest conversations that can sometimes feel uncomfortable.
  • Continually work toward improving the employee experience throughout their journey at OpenStore.

 WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 7+ years of professional experience operating in a people related function within an innovative and scaling environment.
  • 3+ years of experience operating in a direct or indirect leadership capacity.
  • Successful record of implementing people related programs and policies to create an environment that supports our employees and enables the business to be operationally efficient.
  • Ability to lead through influence and uplift the productivity of others around you.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations with sometimes minimal information and arrive at a principled outcome.
  • Ability to thrive in a data and metrics driven environment, qualitative and quantitative, to inform or influence decision making.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional stakeholders to accomplish a common goal.
  • Consultative communication skills while working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Familiarity with the ever changing landscape of employment law to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • A positive and team oriented approach to your work, defining your success through the contributions of others.
  • Leads through the service of others with a high level of empathy.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and integrity in sensitive situations.
  • Highly ethical and can be trusted with confidential and sensitive information.
