The Role

Opendoor is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join our growing team in India. This person will be responsible for helping inspire, inform and engage our growing workforce in the country; developing and elevating our employment brand, both internally and externally; and driving external communications to support recruiting through thought leadership, speaking and awards programs.

Responsibilities:

Internal Communication

  • Bring a creative perspective to storytelling across all internal channels, and create high-quality content to support our business strategy and internal programs
  • Provide strategic communications counsel and guidance to internal teams in India, building strong relationships across divisions and levels
  • Support content, promotion and logistics of Opendoor’s internal events in India (all-hands meetings, guest speakers, leadership offsites, cultural events, etc.)
  • Measure and report internal program results and business impact

Employer Brand

  • Build and execute a communications strategy that brings to life the culture of Opendoor in order to attract, retain and inspire employees in India
  • Create rich and creative content highlighting life at Opendoor, including brand videos, collateral, digital assets and more
  • Drive awards programs that position Opendoor as a premier employer
  • Develop multi-channel recruitment marketing campaigns to build robust talent pipelines for high-demand positions and functional areas
  • Manage and maximize the impact of our employer branding channels in India.

External Communication

  • Work with our tech leaders in India to develop thought leadership platforms, messaging, and content
  • Coach and prepare spokespeople for press meetings and speaking events
  • Provide highly-skilled technical writing for a variety of external-facing materials (blog posts, white papers, case studies, etc.) and internal content (talking points, FAQs, etc.), to support our engineering team
  • Secure proactive stories that highlight Opendoor’s tech leadership
  • Drive Opendoor’s speaking and awards program in India to highlight tech leadership and support recruiting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5+ years of communications experience in-house or in an agency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to listen, simplify, and disseminate information tailored to the target audience
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional follow-up and organization

Bonus:

  • Moderate or advanced design skills in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Video editing experience
  • Real estate or HiTech industry experience a plus but not required
