Position Summary:

Documents are the core of real estate transactions, and our Document Management team is at the forefront of ensuring every detail is meticulously captured, stored, and made available to all relevant stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Software Engineer ICM to join our Document Management Team. As an Individual Contributor Manager (ICM), you will have the unique opportunity to be both an individual contributor and a manager for the Document Management Team. This hybrid role combines technical execution with people management, offering a path for talented engineers who seek diversified responsibilities and wish to gain management experience while continuing to contribute technically.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Sr Engineering Manager on the team you will:

  • Role Responsibilities:

    • The Sr Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for working directly with our product team to deliver and execute a strategic product roadmap and portfolio. Key responsibilities for this role are to:
    • Help build and lead great software teams to deliver world-class products
    • Hire, retain and grow your direct reports and peer teams
    • Champion engineering and operations, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers
    • Working closely with product and design, help engineers gain business context, improve prioritization skills, and hone their craft
    • Promote an engaged, product-focused, positive engineering culture of excellence
    • Proactively identify risks and unblock teams  
    • Uncover better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it
    • Spend 10 - 20% of time actively contributing to the code, executing on development work items and reviewing merge requests

    Skills Needed:

    • 10+ years of software development work experience
    • 2+ years of experience as a hands-on technical engineering manager, managing team of 5-10 engineers
    • Experience designing and architecting highly scalable applications
    • Proven track record of leading productive engineering teams and shipping world class products
    • Experience with ETL processes and API Architectures
    • Experience actively coaching and mentoring team members in their careers
    • Instituted consistent cultural choices that positively impact all of engineering
    • Passion to build and lead high performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
    • A bias towards action and an iterative approach to problem-solving
    • Instituted consistent cultural choices that positively impact all of engineering
    • A high level of organization and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
