Strategic Sales Director

About the Role: 

Ooma's 2600Hz sales team is seeking an accomplished Strategic Sales Director with established relationships in the Service Providers and Telecom Carriers space. This role requires a candidate who can drive sales at a senior leadership level as an individual contributor by engaging with Service Providers. The successful candidate will lead a Service Provider segment, leveraging their industry connections, driving revenue growth, and mentoring junior team members on the best approaches to establish and nurture relationships within the Service Provider sector. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Account Management 
    • Provide strategic direction for their segment of Service Providers, utilizing existing relationships to achieve revenue targets and business objectives. 
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our customer base within Service Providers and Telecom Carriers. 
    • Support a high-performance culture as a senior member of the sales team through effective communication, presentation skills, and partner management. 
  • Market Analysis 
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market opportunities to inform sales strategies. 
    • Conduct regular market analysis and competitor assessments within the Service Provider and Telecom Carrier space to identify potential areas for growth. 
  • Relationship Management 
    • Utilize existing relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders within the Service Provider and Telecom Carrier sectors to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and ongoing support. 
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting 
    • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, sales reports, and other relevant metrics to measure performance and inform decision-making. 
    • Regularly report on sales activities, achievements, and challenges to senior management. 
  • Training & Service Provider Partner Development 
    • Recruit, train, and develop service provider partners. 
    • Foster a collaborative and positive environment with partners that encourages creativity and innovation. 
    • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the partner’s product knowledge and solution’s sales skills. 
  • Customer Focus 
    • Ensure a customer-centric approach in all sales activities, focusing on delivering value and solving customer challenges. 
    • Gather customer feedback and insights to inform product and service enhancements. 

Experience We’re Looking For: 

  • Proven experience in sales & account management with the ability to achieve exceptional results; minimum of 5 years in a senior sales role. 
  • Established relationships with Service Providers and Telecom Carriers. Highly desirable to have prior experience with the BroadSoft and/or Metaswitch ecosystems.  
  • Deep understanding of the telecommunications industry, preferably with experience in Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) solutions. Bonus if you have experience in CCaaS and CPaaS. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate market trends into actionable plans. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Executive presence and excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets. Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans, including pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue generation. 
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools. 
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful client relationships. 
  • Ability to travel as required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
