Our mission is to be the UK’s simplest way to find and finance a great value used car. We want to put car buyers back in control and make the car buying experience as simple, straightforward, and joyful as possible as car buyers deserve oodles of car buying confidence!

We are a team of 450 people located in Manchester, Oxford and London. Over the past 6 years, we’ve supported 10,000’s of customers on their car buying journey and know 2023 is shaping up to be another exciting year!

🟢The Team

The Salesforce team is a crucial part of Oodle’s Engineering division. We drive the Salesforce platform and data  that integrates to all of our other front-end systems.

The team is made up of 11 Engineers  and structured with  8 Salesforce Engineers, 1 Salesforce Business Administrator and 3 QA Engineers. We strive to deliver a high quality on all of our Salesforce and integrated software products, in a fun and social environment.

This role is based in either our London, Oxford or Manchester offices  and can be worked in a hybrid manner combining in-person collaboration within the office and  Finance team and remote/home working.

🙌 The Role

Salesforce Engineer at Oodle Car Finance.

A Salesforce Engineer works with the product teams to develop software products in line with the project management goals and contributes to the design and development of any work needing to be done by the team with regards to Salesforce, while ensuring that code is in line with the general ethos and approach to development of the Salesforce platform.

Your day to day work will be a mix of product development, support and documentation which may include:

  • Build and support new and existing Salesforce applications using technologies such as Apex and Lightning Web Component to leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform and enable critical integrations and company initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new methods and frameworks
  • Translate business requirements into effective technical designs and implementation.
  • Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving defects encountered during various stages of project delivery, including during the deployment and implementation of the solution in production environments.

About you

Experience is one thing, but potential is far more important so, even if you lack some of the skills listed below, we still really want to hear from you. 

Essential Requirements for the Role 

  • Experience developing on the Salesforce Platform using both declarative and coded solutions.
  • An understanding of Lightning UX and configuring Salesforce for agent efficiency, using standard Salesforce features and Lightning Components.
  • Experience with Salesforce Communities
  • Strong knowledge of data management, modelling and large data volume (LDV) handling strategies.
  • Experience in Salesforce security settings best practices.
  • Good team player who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys knowledge sharing.
  • Experience using a development IDE such as VSCode or IntelliJ.
  • Experience using Git or an equivalent source control system.
  • Experience in using integration technologies such as REST and SOAP.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or equivalent demonstrable experience.

 

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to development on Salesforce’s Sales, Service and Experience Cloud implementation.
  • Exposure to development on Marketing Cloud implementations.
  • Exposure to Salesforce DX source format and usage of Salesforce CLI for both development and continuous integration.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II.
  • JIRA & Confluence.
