We are a team of 480 people located in Manchester, Oxford and London. Over the past 8 years, we’ve supported 10,000’s of customers on their car buying journey. 

Role Purpose 

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Major Accounts, the National Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for the identification, successful acquisition, and long-term engagement of major relationships within the AM top 100 dealer groups and independent top 50 dealers.

The role acts as the bridge between the company and its major partners, focusing on cultivating strong relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and managing the overall key account portfolio, to deliver sustained commercial growth.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyse data to make informed decisions, develop tailored solutions, and drive business growth, developing major account relationships into high value, profitable, compliant partners for Oodle

Responsibilities

Business Development of new major accounts

  • Create and implement a business development strategy, which expands the company’s reach, and improves our proposition development and share of the market
  • Work with the senior commercial leadership team to generate new business opportunities and handle all aspects of the sales process, managing multiple, high-value business development opportunities in the AM top 100 and Independent top 50 dealer market 
  • Collaborate with finance, credit, risk, product, engineering, and operations teams, ensuring alignment between commercial and operational goals to achieve sustainable performance growth
  • Protect, improve, and extend our competitive position, by staying on top of industry trends and developments, cultivating relationships with other companies, gaining valuable insights into emerging technologies, market shifts, and other factors that impact our growth strategy

Data Analysis and Insight Creation

  • Understand and use data and insights to build a sales story that is compelling and cohesive for both target and existing major accounts 
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of major accounts, initiating and making recommendations to improve all areas of the sales funnel and after sales support to generate improved returns and growth 
  • Create and prepare impactful account reviews and new account presentations to provoke discussion, which initiates change and disrupts traditional thinking 
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly volume targets for all accounts, anticipating and including market trends and shifts within these forecasts

Collaboration and High Performance

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, which can ultimately drive growth and success, by bringing together internal stakeholders and external accounts to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the company's overall strategy
  • Identify, establish, and nurture beneficial relationships with industry partners. These relationships can boost brand credibility, expand market reach, and drive commercial growth, building long-lasting partnerships which bring value to the business but also increase value for the customer
  • Working closely with the Head of Sales and Major Accounts, highlight opportunities and initiate sales effectiveness ideas to continuously improve contribution of the commercial team.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture, acting as a senior role model for the sales teams with energy, execution, and strong accountability.

Key attributes, skills & knowledge

Essential 

  • Proven success in new business revenue generation, including market expansion within regulated financial services
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen, coupled with analytical skills in planning & forecasting
  • Deep understanding of motor finance and market trends, skilled at analysing market data, identifying emerging trends, and developing commercial solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data and market insights
  • Achievement of business key performance indicators related to sales, market share and profitability
  • Skilled negotiator, adept at identifying and articulating value and developing commercially compelling proposals
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple and competing priorities simultaneously
  • This is a national role and travel across the UK will be required
