WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking a Senior People Success Business Partner (Sr. PSBP) with a passion for aligning people strategies with business objectives. As the Sr. PSBP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting onX Product and Engineering leaders and their organizations, which together comprise about half of our company. These teams drive our innovation and are crucial to our success and ability to delight customers. You will be instrumental in crafting and implementing people and organizational strategies that propel our business objectives and foster a culture of excellence and engagement.

Your efforts will have a profound impact on our business and our most valuable asset, our people. As a vital member of our People Success team, you will help create an exceptional employee experience at onX. As an onX Senior PSBP, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like: 

  • Strategic Partnership and Advocacy:
    • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to address business, organizational, and people-related needs.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to onX leadership on people matters, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Act as an ambassador for people initiatives to drive engagement and alignment across the organization.
  • Project Leadership and Performance Management
    • Lead People Success initiatives to successful execution, such as Engagement Surveys, CareerGPS, Talent Review cycles, Compensation review, 9Box assessments, and 15five usage.
    • Partner with managers to assess performance, drive performance decisions, and foster the growth of mid-level and top talent.
  • Learning, Development, and Mentorship:
    • Partner with the Head of Learning and Development to create and deliver training and engagement programs that foster professional growth and career development.
    • Mentor and coach junior People Success team members to develop their skills and careers.
  • Data Analysis and Organizational Planning:
    • Track and analyze key indicators of organizational health, recommending improvements to enhance value and effectiveness.
    • Provide guidance on business unit restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning.
    • Collaborate with business leaders to proactively identify opportunities to optimize organizational effectiveness and drive performance.
  • Employee Relations and Personnel Management:
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, working to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Partner with People Success team members on tasks such as benefits administration, vacation management, and leave administration as needed.
  • Cultural Enhancement and Inclusivity:
    • Enhance the culture of your supported organizations, ensuring alignment with Company Values and the onX way of working.
    • Lead inclusivity efforts to foster a culture of belonging and ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Leadership Engagement:
    • Conduct 1:1s with business unit leaders and participate in team meetings, planning sessions, Core Weeks, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of Human Resources experience, including: 
    • At least 5 years of HR Business Partner experience in SaaS, tech startup, and/or scaling environments with over 100 technical employees.
    • Direct HR support for Product and Engineering teams in a SaaS or software company, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these functions.
  • Proven track record of managing HR functions in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple dotted-line reporting structures.
  • Extensive experience leading projects and working closely with C-Suite and senior leadership.
  • Proven success in working remotely and in an autonomous, rapidly changing, and scaling organization. This includes demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment and building strong partnerships remotely.
  • A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.
  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX. 
  • Ability to travel at minimum quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp. 

ADDED BONUSES

Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:

  • Experience supporting organizations of varying sizes, from startups to larger, more established companies, demonstrating the ability to tailor HR strategies to different business contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience using 15Five for performance management, employee engagement, and continuous feedback processes.
  • Proven track record of building processes and programs from the ground up.

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office or “Basecamp."

  • Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time, this is a great option.
  • Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure. 
    • Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA. 

HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $115,000 to $145,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
