WHAT YOU WILL DO

In the role of Senior FP&A Analyst, you'll focus on elevating the financial strategy across various business units rather than concentrating on a specific product. Your primary responsibility will be to enrich the onX’s financial management practices, aiming to multiply the effectiveness and efficiency of all teams. By developing and implementing broad-based financial strategies and managing the overarching budgeting processes, you'll play a critical role in shaping onX’s growth trajectory. Collaborating with senior leaders, your analytical insights will drive informed decision-making and foster a culture of financial accountability and strategic investment. This position, reporting directly to the Senior Director of FP&A, requires prioritizing collaborative partnerships across the company to enhance overall financial performance and sustainability. 

As an onX Senior FP&A Analyst, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like: 

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, perform variance analysis, and deliver insightful recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key financial and operational metrics.
  • Engage in productive partnerships with leaders, offering critical financial insights that facilitate agile, informed decision-making and foster sustainable growth.
  • Participate in the management of the budgeting and forecasting process, aligning financial planning with the organization’s strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Assist in the production and analysis of financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights that inform strategic decisions and operational efficiencies.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting, encompassing revenue, expenses, and equity.
  • Explore and analyze potential growth opportunities, supporting the identification and evaluation of pathways for organic and inorganic expansion.
  • Demonstrate analytical acumen, integrity, and a commitment to the organization’s values, earning the trust and confidence of the leadership team and peers.
  • Foster a culture of financial awareness and discipline throughout the organization, providing training and support to non-finance teams on budget management and financial best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field. 
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in FP&A or strategy
  • Strong ability to partner with leaders across the company and drive outcomes together
  • Desire to learn and grow, constant learning mindset
  • Track record of working seamlessly with accounting and co-development of optimal processes. 
  • Ability to travel monthly or quarterly for multiple days (primarily to Bozeman or Missoula). 
  • Experience with core FP&A tools (Adaptive Planning, Excel, Tableau, Google sheets, Powerpoint, Word, Google Docs, etc).
  • Self-starter with a drive for excellence, the ability to build strong working relationships, and motivate others to achieve their best performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A service-oriented individual that continually challenges the status quo and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Ability to lead, work independently, and work in a team environment.

  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
  • Must be available for travel to a corporate office in Montana periodically.

  • Strong preference will be given to those located in Missoula, Bozeman, or Salt Lake areas where other finance employees are concentrated.  
  • M&A and corp dev experience.

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office in Montana or “Basecamp." Preference will be given to applicants based in Missoula or the wider Salt Lake City area, as this is where most of onX's Finance team is located.

  • Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time, this is a great option.
  • Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure. 
    • Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.

HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $85,000 to $130,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
