WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking a strong Senior Product Manager to shape the future of the onX Hunt app. In this role, you will be responsible for creating solutions to the problems that matter most to hunters with a strong emphasis on whitetail hunting. The role requires careful analysis and balancing of multiple inputs and feedback to determine product-market fit and prioritization including customer feedback, user conversion, engagement and retention metrics, internal employee feedback and ideas, competitive research and market dynamics, and company objectives and goals. The product manager works directly with engineering, geospatial content, operations, UX and product design, product marketing, brand, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and product success.

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded technical, business, and product background with a well-documented history of successfully delivering consumer-facing software, end-to-end. You will identify opportunities to converge overlapping technical efforts, be driven by customer-centric thinking, and be adept at balancing short-term versus long-term strategy. You are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. You are able to manage competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. You are data-driven and analytical; your hypotheses are backed with facts and the features you deliver to customers are of the highest value and impact.

onX has built its reputation on being ‘built for | by for’. As such, this role requires someone with deep knowledge of whitetail hunting. The hunt team relentlessly pursues excellence in everything we do, so you must bring a strong passion for getting after it in the field and the office.

As the Senior Product Manager for onX Hunt, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like: 

  • Be a vocal advocate for hunt customers by establishing, maintaining, and delivering a prioritized, detailed delivery roadmap for specific features that matter most to whitetail hunters
  • Own delivery results and be accountable for customer engagement, usability, app store reviews, and customer service contacts. 
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, and QA teams to prepare roadmap items for development. This includes drafting requirements, defining scope, success criteria, aligning team members, and ensuring measurements are available at launch.
  • Troubleshoot implementation issues removing barriers to project success and escalating as necessary 
  • Define customer value propositions for new features and work with the marketing team and business development teams as necessary to establish go to market strategies
  • Exhibit strong competency in a/b testing, establishing strong metrics and measurements, and ability to speak fluently and confidently to these metrics in weekly business reviews
  • Clear and routine communications effectively communicating status (written as well as verbal) across the organization and to senior leadership

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience with at least five (5) in a product manager role for consumer-facing software 
  • Background in and strong passion for hunting with deep knowledge of whitetail hunting tactics 
  • Maturity, high-level judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, and strong analytical skills. onX is a highly data-driven company - you must be highly adept at metrics and measurements
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and working relationship with all onX employees
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth environment. You're someone who's self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent, demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
  • Ability to travel at least quarterly for multiple days at a time.

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

For this role, we have a strong preference for candidates who can be based in Missoula or Bozeman, Montana, close to our corporate offices. However, we remain open to considering exceptionally qualified candidates for remote work from our onX Basecamp locations in Austin, Denver, Seattle, or Minneapolis. Additionally, onX provides generous relocation assistance for outstanding candidates who are open to relocating to one of our Montana offices.

HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $140,000 to $175,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
