Organization Summary:

PAX sapiens is a grantmaking and operating foundation hosted by One Earth Future. PAX sapiens uses direct grantmaking and coordination tools such as convenings, conferences, and information sharing systems to advance human security and sustainable peace. PAX sapiens has two primary issue areas we focus on: strengthening global systems for pandemic prevention and promoting better US-Chinese relationships in global fora specifically.

PAX sapiens is hosted by the operating foundation One Earth Future. For over a decade, One Earth Future (OEF) has worked to prevent armed conflict and promote stability through creative and inclusive problem-solving. As an operating foundation, OEF leverages its core funding and overseas development assistance to achieve the flexibility and scale needed to solve problems in places suffering from fragility and seemingly inescapable conflict. With offices in Austria, Colombia and Somalia, OEF positions itself as a partner of choice for governments, implementers, and donors working to prevent conflict, promote sustainable development, and enhance local governance in the most difficult places on the planet.

Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is: USD $96,050 - USD $110,000 annually. US benefits include Medical, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, and a 401k with employer match. 

Location:

This position is located at the One Earth Future Foundation central office in Broomfield, CO. The OEF office operates on a hybrid in-office/work from home model. Typical schedule is Mon/Wed/Fri from home and Tues/Thurs in office. Work on nights and weekends may be requested.

Purpose:

The Information Systems Manager will ensure the seamless operation of PAX sapiens information systems (IS) infrastructure, implementing solutions and providing day-to-day support to meet the IS needs of PAX sapiens in support of the organization’s business strategies and goals. This position supports users in Broomfield, CO, and Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, perform technical responsibilities effectively, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with a solid knowledge of IS solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Craft and communicate a visionary IS strategy that aligns with PAX sapiens long-term goals and adapts to the evolving technological landscape.
  • Spearhead the integration of digital technology across the organization, advocating for digital transformation initiatives that enhance organizational operational efficiency.
  • Stay current on relevant IS trends to develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and in support of strategic goals.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of networks, endpoints, databases, SaaS solutions, and other critical IS systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage consultants, vendors, and outsourced services.
  • Manage all technical assistance and Help Desk needs.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with leaders, key stakeholders, and colleagues to innovate, enhance, align, and drive the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Manage the IT onboarding process for new staff, ensuring seamless integration into the IT ecosystem. Manage the IT offboarding process for staff, including deprovisioning, data security measures, and equipment retrieval.
  • Lead and execute IS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to safeguard organizational data and systems, including backup systems for critical data. Perform routine security audits. Promptly and proactively respond to cybersecurity incidents in partnership with management. Establish a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
  • Manage hardware and software inventory.
  • Support the preparation of IT annual budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support PAX sapiens IS functions and ensure the smooth functioning of all offices.

 Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years in IS, with 3+ in technology leadership and/or technology consulting roles.
  • Proven ability to manage IS projects and activities, including developing project plans, coordinating projects, and communicating changes and progress.
  • Expertise in hands-on global administration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and SharePoint, complemented by a comprehensive understanding of modern IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Familiarity with IS-related data retention and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and experience implementing data retention and privacy policies across systems and networks.
  • Proven experience in guiding organizational technology solutions and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strategic thinker, adept at both high-level planning and hands-on tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. The ability to conduct business conversations in a second language is preferred.
