As part of the senior leadership team, the VP Underwriting plays a key role in OneInfinity’s international expansion by fully capturing the market opportunities, achieving our business plan, and establishing OneInfinity as a leading insurer in the digital asset industry. A successful candidate can think out of the box and will work in close collaboration with Chief Underwriter, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer to build a robust international underwriting network/team and manage a profitable portfolio.
What you will be doing:
- As a member of the senior leadership team, participate in and contribute to the company’s strategic planning
- Identify specific markets and product that will contribute to OneInfinity’s growth and develop underwriting road map to achieve the plan
- Development, implementation, and update of underwriting guidelines including applications, pricing tools, etc;
- Implementation and Management of internal underwriting compliance controls;
- Portfolio management to reflect an appropriate balance between segments and diversification of line of business;
- Management of company accumulations;
- Lead for internal underwriting audit;
- Creating or optimising underwriting and risk management strategies
- Meeting with clients, creating new business relationships and negotiating on behalf of the company
- Understanding the market to keep the company competitive in terms of new products and prices
- Building an international underwriting team
- Training new underwriters and managing the underwriting team
What we are looking for:
- A proven track record of building and maintaining strong business relationships with insureds and strategic distribution partners;
- Natural curiosity. You love learning how things work and you are always looking for innovative improvements;
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and tactical leadership to a team of talented professionals;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Your communication style is flexible to the situation. You communicate clearly and with a purpose;
- A strong customer service bias. You want to get to yes. You are known for your super responsiveness. You can say no and preserve your relationships;
- You have a strong sense of accountability, fun and adventure;
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
