Senior Product Designer, Virtual insurance

Job Overview 

As the Product Designer at OneDegree, the goal is to provide a better user experience for our customers and enhance the digital insurance product consumption experience. To be successful in this role, you will need to see both the big picture and be able and willing to execute rapidly. You will also need to partner closely with our business and product development teams to design insurance products for the Hong Kong market. Since the requirements and user flows of each insurance product are slightly different, this person should have strong experience across UX, Research, and Design and be able to demonstrate Design thinking.

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and developers to understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, translating them into innovative and user-friendly digital experiences. 
• Lead the design process from concept ideation to final implementation, ensuring design quality and consistency across all digital platforms and products. 
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, validate design decisions, and drive user-centered design solutions. 
• Create and deliver high-quality design deliverables, including user journeys, user flows, wireframes, UI mock-ups, and prototypes, to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions. 
• Advocate for design thinking methodologies, champion user-centered design principles, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the design team and across the organization. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing design guidance and fostering effective communication to ensure successful project outcomes. 
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies, and share knowledge and best practices with the team. 

Requirements 

• Portfolio of UI/UX design or related projects is a must. 
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or Hybrid UX/UI Designer. 
• Proven experience in B2C product design, especially in Web or Web app products. 
• Knowledge of Design Thinking flows and concepts. 
• Detail-oriented with a logical flow. 
• Expert knowledge of responsive design and Web UI/UX. 
• Familiarity with design and/or prototyping software, such as Figma, Sketch, etc. 
• Ability to think independently, make decisions, and communicate effectively throughout the process. 
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-stress design process with minimal supervision. 
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present work to executives and large groups. 
• Mentoring: provide guidance and support to a less experienced or junior designer to help them develop their skills and knowledge in the field of design. 

Plus

• Experience in the Scrum development process. 
• Experience in Motion Graphics design. 
• Experience in working at a startup. 
• Experience in user studies and data analysis. 
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, psychology, computer science, sociology, anthropology, or a related field. 
• Clear communication in English and Mandarin. 

Interview Process 

1. Phone interview with HR. 
2. 1st interview: 1-hour meeting with Design Manager (-> Beti). 
3. Assignment test -> HR sent. 
4. 2nd interview: 1.5-hour meeting with Co-workers (-> Howard, Vincent, Kim). 
5. 3rd interview: 1-hour meeting with BU Head.
