Job Overview

As the New Product Implementation (NPI) Manager at OmniOn Power Shanghai manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient new production implementation that meet NPI goals of safety, quality, velocity, and cost. You will lead a team of talented project/program coordinators/engineers and collaborate closely with other departments within the factory and R&D organization to drive continuous improvement, optimize processes, and achieve operational excellence.

This position will be based in Fengxian Shanghai and reports to China Operations Leader.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for the related EHS management on behalf of whole function.

 Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of project engineers and coordinators, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to develop the skills and capabilities of the NPI team.
  • Manage workload, assignments, and performance evaluations for the NPI team members.

 NPI Project Planning and Execution:

  • Lead project manager works with cross-functional team on NPI process, drive ownership, commitment, and execution to NPI metrics to assure all aspects of the program are successful.
  • Own program review and build up Design-for-Manufacturing (DfM), Design-for-Automation (DfA); proactively manage program risks and communicates to stakeholders.
  • Guide technical engineers solving technical related issues happened on both NPI and mass production products. Screen and identify design issues and collect relevant data/report before sending it to design team.
  • Establish team priorities and serve as the focal point and leader to facilitate on-time completion of program deliverables.
  • Provide “lessons learned” inputs to new programs entering the design process.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with relevant industry regulations.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to resolve manufacturing issues in the pilot and released to mass production phases.

  

ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic/electrical product design and development (preferred), or electronics manufacturing engineering.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and leadership in new product development.
  • Strong understanding of product development and manufacturing process and financial scoping of engineering programs.
  • Experience leading and integrating work in a global and cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven track record of collaboration / team building / continuous improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English

 Desired Characteristics:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
