JOB SUMMARY: 

Join an experienced team to extend, maintain, and support the C++ servers that power our Usenet (NNTP) service and other offerings.  Open to experienced/senior engineers with knowledge of scalability and the craft of software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • C++ network server programming in a Linux environment
  • Troubleshooting in a large-scale global deployment
  • Analysis of performance and scalability
  • Helping with evolution of storage architectures

EXPERIENCE: 

  • C++ programming in a Linux environment
  • Parallelism (POSIX threads experience ideal, but other concurrency experience acceptable)
  • Troubleshooting and analytic skills

REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Openness to code review discipline

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Networking/Sockets/TCP
  • Python/PHP/Perl or other glue-language programming
  • VPN / Certificates / Security interest

EDUCATION:

  • BSCS Desirable

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Mix of in-office / remote with social/meeting opportunities in Winter Park, FL.
