About the Role
We're looking for an eCommerce Manager to join our growing Activation team embedded into PHD Business in London. If you’re passionate about accelerating growth for a portfolio of global brands – this is the role for you. Your focus will be around improving the conversion and digital experience of our client's brands on partner direct selling, retailer websites, and enhance their paid search and display visibility and drive through to conversion. The mission is to be relevant, discoverable and drive efficiencies right down to the point of purchase.
The role will report into our Commerce Director and has EMEA-wide remit.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
eCommerce Media Expertise
- Lead the eCommerce Media strategy for leading FMCG clients across biddable platforms from Amazon to eGrocery platforms leveraging Criteo, CitrusAd, or other retail media platforms.
- Strong DSP/Programmatic experience.
- Help Clients to plan and develop retail media budgets and KPIs and then help to manage the team to build campaigns execute on the agreed objectives.
- Drive best in class practices and optimization strategies across digital touchpoints, ensuring clients are at the forefront of testing to deliver on performance goals and working with client leads to advise on areas of improvement.
- Work closely with the client’s local agency teams to develop holistic strategies against ATL media and with wider eCommerce teams to manage stock / pricing / retail health and be able to flex campaigns accordingly.
eCommerce Strategy Knowledge
- Create holistic event strategies for key event periods, building a clear KPI framework with the client to understand what good looks like.
- Uncover client commercial objectives, and actively participate in long range strategic planning across both media planning and buying in order to meet & exceed those commercial goals.
- Provide recommendations to improve sales & margin, through effective retail & marketing planning.
- Demonstrate thought leadership with clients by developing and presenting client industry/market research findings, eCommerce search trends, eCommerce growth areas, new models to consider and eCommerce case studies.
eCommerce Analysis Skills
- Be able to analyse multiple data sources confidently and accurately, highlight the most relevant KPIs for each client, draw key insights and write commentary within the context.
- Identify opportunities based on deep data analysis using Media Platforms (Criteo, CitrusAd, etc.), Amazon tools (Pacvue/Skai), or other external sources (Profitero, Nielsen, GfK, etc.)
Stakeholder Management Skills: You will be in a regional role driving growth within local markets – so eagerness to partner across multiple local markets & regional clients should be a superpower.
- Effectively and confidently communicate with clients and internal teams, delivering eCommerce analysis, insight, and strategy coherently to an audience with a broad eCommerce understanding.
- Managing a team of 3 eCommerce Executives, owning responsibility for your team’s output, acting as the escalation point when required. Coach the team through their annual reviews.
- Proactive, open, and curious - both internally and at the client to strive develop best in class ecommerce practices across markets
Essential Qualifications:
- 3+ years' eCommerce experience, including paid search (PPC / Search Engine Marketing), and/or SEO/organic search, retailer eCommerce activation / performance display at either a digital agency or client-side and at least 1+ years of team management.
- Ambitious, driven and passionate about all things eCommerce, with an excellent comprehension of how search serves as the backbone of online purchases
- Ecommerce activation experience through Criteo, Amazon Advertising Platform (AMS and DSP), CitrusAD and / or other retail players
- Strong presentation skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- Enjoy educating clients about all things eCommerce and how optimising search can drive eCommerce efforts
- Good negotiating skills paired with ability to dive deep into performance reporting.
Good to have:
- Additional language skills highly preferred (Spanish/German/Italian)
- Knowledge & experience of performance analysis, forecasting & creating high level & in depth reports
- Experience working with & advising on the implementation of tagging & tracking
