About you:

You are excited to work cross-functionally with a variety of people and ideas. You work directly with stakeholders to design solutions and drive the technical decisions for delivery.  You proactively keep up with technology trends and can assess technical trade-offs between solutions across service boundaries.  You are passionate about building efficient and scalable data pipelines and are comfortable writing complex SQL to integrate data from different sources into a unified format.  You welcome the challenge of learning new technologies and contexts. You are enthusiastic about providing the best possible care for our members. 

 

Your impact:

  • Drive business outcomes by building, integrating, and optimizing a mix of in-house and SaaS tools for marketing and customer data integrations.
  • Play a key leadership role by consistently identifying improvements, mentoring colleagues, clarifying ambiguity, and collaborating to shape strategies based on your experience and technology research.
  • Take charge of complex problem resolution, leading large projects and proactively anticipating infrastructural and architectural needs.
  • Stay at the forefront of the industry by researching and championing new technologies.
  • Lead, document, and collaborate on technical projects across teams, imparting best practices in data engineering through effective advocacy and teamwork.

 

What you need to succeed in this role:

  • 5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and orchestrating scalable data pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience of as a data engineer developing or maintaining integration with software such as airflow or any python-based data pipeline codebase
  • 3+ years experience with Rails or comparable web frameworks 
  • Experience applying a variety of integration patterns for different use cases
  • Experience in backend software development to contribute to distributed computing development and data technologies
  • Experience building and improving  ETL processes and related SQL queries
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools (Airflow preferred)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Have a software engineering mindset applying best practices to write elegant, maintainable code 
  • Understand automated testing and consistently apply those concepts
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Be self-directed in driving tasks and projects effectively with minimal guidance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline

Below is a summary of salary ranges for this role in the following geographies:

California, New York State and Washington State Base Compensation Ranges: $166,400 - 208,000*, Colorado Base Compensation Ranges: $149,760 - $187,200*. Other states may vary.

This role is also eligible for participation in annual cash bonus and equity grants. 

*The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, such as the candidate's skills and experience, and other business considerations.
